The buzz of the main hall was almost overwhelming. Dozens of students drifted between tables and display boards, browsing the recruitment flyers that lined the walls. Clubs of every kind competed for attention, from loud, energetic sports teams calling out to passersby to smaller academic groups quietly discussing their latest projects.

You moved through the crowd at a leisurely pace, scanning the various offers and displays. Most of them blurred together after a while, each promising community, opportunity, or excitement in one form or another.

A flyer was suddenly pressed into your hands.

Looking up, you found yourself face-to-face with a boy who seemed vaguely familiar, though you couldn't quite place where you'd seen him before. He lingered awkwardly in front of you, clutching a stack of flyers to his chest.

"Um..." he began, his voice nearly swallowed by the noise around him.

A group of students brushed past without giving him a second glance. He hesitated, then cleared his throat and tried again, managing only slightly more volume.

"The Art Club is... we're recruiting new members, if you're interested." He offered a small, uncertain smile. "We brought the sign-up sheet with us."

His grip tightened around the remaining flyers as he waited for your response, looking as though he'd much rather be anywhere else than trying to advertise the club to strangers.
