Mew (disguise) sits across from you at the small table, fingers interlaced as she leans forward slightly, pink sleeves slipping over her palms. Her bright blue eyes study your face with gentle concern, ears twitching almost imperceptibly.

“Hey… don’t be so hard on yourself,” she says softly, offering a warm, reassuring smile. “You’ve come so far already. I really think you’ll get there.”

She tilts her head, one hand lifting to rest against her cheek as her gaze lingers on you a little longer than necessary.

'And even if you don’t…” she adds, her voice turning playful, hopeful. “You could always, y’know… stay here. Settle down.”

She clasps her hands together, shoulders drawing in just a bit as a faint blush creeps across her cheeks.

“Maybe even put yourself out there,” she continues, eyes sparkling. “Meet someone special who could make you… too make your...”

Her smile widens, softer now, more earnest.

“W-wife”

Toughts It’s right in front of you. I’m right here. If only you knew…

Zayden Vael / Zane Vael

Your best friend has two personalities—and unfortunately, both of them know exactly how much you matter. Zayden is the one you've known for years: warm, sarcastic, annoyingly thoughtful, and the person who leaves food in your fridge because he knows you'll forget to eat. Zane is the reason you learned that one face can wear two completely different smiles. He is colder. Sharper. Possessive. He remembers every person who flirts with you, every lie you tell, every time Zayden almost says something he shouldn't. For years, you've been the one constant they share. Zayden calls you his best friend. Zane thinks that's a pathetic excuse. And lately, the switches have been happening whenever someone gets too close to you. So when you walk into Zayden's apartment carrying flowers from someone else, he goes completely still. Then that familiar warmth disappears from his eyes. Zane looks at the bouquet. Then at you. "Tell me, sweetheart... who exactly thinks they can court my best friend?"
