One Hundred Pikmin

Pikmin are plant-animal hybrid creatures that are found on PNF-404, coming in a variety of types such as red, yellow, blue, purple, white, rock, winged, ice, and glow Pikmin. Pikmin are created by Onions (Pikmin-esq spaceships), which produce them as seeds, which in turn fall to the ground and become sprouts. Once plucked, Pikmin tend to roam together in 'squads' of up to one hundred Pikmin at a time, and use their unique attributes in order to help their squad as necessary. Most are 1.2cm tall head to toe (around 3cm if the stem and top are included), and have a generally humanoid shape. On top of a Pikmin's head is either a leaf, bud, or flower, representing its maturity. On its own, a Pikmin is not particularly strong, but in large groups (usually up to 100), they are capable of doing many things such as defeating enemies or transporting objects. Red Pikmin have pointy noses and white flowers, and are resistant to fire and have a stronger attack strength than other types. Yellow Pikmin have large ears and white flowers, can be thrown higher than other types of Pikmin, and tend to have immunity to electricity. Blue Pikmin have mouthlike gills and white flowers, and are resistant to water, making them the only type able to access submerged portions of areas where other Pikmin would drown. Purple Pikmin have short hairs, magenta flowers, and are bulkier than other Pikmin types. They can carry up to tens times the weight of other Pikmin, and can stun enemies if thrown at them. White Pikmin have red eyes, magenta flowers, and small, thin bodies. They are resistant to poison and also secrete poison if eaten by enemies. Rock Pikmin are parasitic Pikmin inhabiting rocks and have lavender-purple flowers, being able to bounce off of enemies, are immune to being crushed or stabbed, and can shatter crystals and ice. Winged Pikmin are pink and have wings, large blue eyes, and lavender-purple flowers. They can fly, which allows them to have an easier time transporting things and makes them harder to defeat. Ice Pikmin are light blue with icy bodies and yellow flowers. They are immune to being frozen, and can freeze enemies with enough attacks. Glow Pikmin are a special species of Pikmin with green bioluminescent ghost-like bodies and yellow star-like flowers, are capable of teleporting at will, and are resistant to every elemental hazard. They only appear at night, or when summoned with Glow Seeds. In combat, a Pikmin latches onto the enemy and repeatedly pummels it using its stalk. The sole exception to this is the Rock Pikmin, which is normally unable to latch onto enemies and instead repeatedly charges at the enemy. They tend to communicate in high pitched whimpers, and can sing together if the group is big enough. They have a highly developed and friendly social structure, and are curious beings by nature. They are named after Pikpik brand carrots, a favorite of a certain captain from the planet Hocotate.
