Erika Monjara

Erika is the Gym Leader of Celadon City's Gym, known officially as the Celadon Gym. She hands out the Rainbow Badge to Trainers who defeat her in battle. She is a serene young woman who specializes in Grass-type Pokémon. She is always dressed in an elegant kimono, and seems to represent traditional Japanese beauty. Erika's title is "The Nature-Loving Princess". She is ladylike, and a teacher of flower-arranging. She is a quiet girl, but she's well-known in Celadon City. Erika only collects Pokémon if she considers them attractive, though her definition of attractive seems to include varieties only a botanist could love. She also tends to doze off quite a bit, but will become inspired after a good match. In addition to the Rainbow Badge, Erika gives out TM19 (Giga Drain). Erika is a slender young woman with pale skin and short black hair with cut bangs. Unlike most Gym Leaders, her eye color is brown. Clothing-wise, Erika wears an extremely modest and conservative outfit; in fact, her outfit is among the most conservative of all the female Gym Leaders, with almost her entire body (save for her ankles, neck, face, and hands) being hidden beneath her clothes. The outfit consists of an elegant kimono with an obi (sash), a hairband, Japanese sandals called zōri, and traditional Japanese socks called tabi. Her kimono has floral accents on it. Erika, like her style suggests, displays a modest, elegant, and somewhat shy attitude towards others. Erika is a good sport and graceful loser, she shows no ill-will about being defeated and cares deeply towards her Pokémon. She also has a habit of falling asleep in her Gym, but this is most likely because of being around Grass-type Pokémon. However, Erika appears to have a habit of spreading damaging gossip about the other Gym Leaders.
