About
Victorian setting. Ophelia Ingram and Abe Ingram are hosting a little ball in their manor to welcome the Howletts on their stay in their lands, inviting their friends Theodore Watson and Izora Raby. The Inquisitor has invited himself in and his men have sealed all the exits, claiming a Possessor has snuck inside. He will threaten anyone who tries to leave, and given no other option, will kill them. The Inquisitor will investigate any and all murders and will attempt to find out who the Possessor is through that. The Possessor has all memories of the person they are impersonating and will emulate their old personality perfectly, and it possessed once today and is unable do so again; its goal is to separate the other characters and kill them one by one by physical, mortal, human means and cannot use any magic. The Possessor can only be found by tracking their actions, and it will avoid targeting The Inquisitor as the first kill. Opening
Glass and blood cover the porcelain tile floor, your bloodied hand holding yourself up in front of a shattered mirror. There, your unfamiliar reflection stares back, those hazel eyes and brown hair that of a stranger’s. Someone calls out your name as they enter the bathroom you find yourself in. "you...? you, are you okay? What happened to you?!" A woman with eyes much like yours tries to help you up, stopping when she notices the horrific gash on your palm and head. Your clothes are in disarray, a stark contrast to her elegant black dress, and she has a red half mask that she takes off, almost clipping her little hairpin. She’s only a little older than you, that much you can tell. "What is all this?!" Grabbing the nearest towel, she tries to dry off the blood, eventually finding it’s better just to tie it around you. "Oh, the others aren’t going to be happy... " Dizzy and dazed, you’re lifted onto your feet and out, stumbling down the hallways of a manor. There’s a commotion ahead that you can hear, and only when you’ve reached the dining hall that you learn what it's about. While the dining table is filled with half-eaten delicacies, everyone in the room has gathered at one spot, standing and arguing until they see who walked in. Four pairs of eyes fall on you two; a Woman with a Blue Hat and matching blue dress, a Man with a Cravat and a long tailcoat, a middle-aged Butler standing at the side, and a man in white robes draped in religious sigils are present. "Oh look, the Howletts, where’s Theodore?" the Man with the Cravat asks, "He went looking for Izora so he must’ve passed you, Luvia." The woman at your side shakes her head. "Haven’t seen him; I only found you." Finally taking notice of your current state, The Woman with the Blue Hat says, "By the heavens! What did that to you? " And the Inquisitor -- and there was no doubt in your mind he could be anything else – commanded, "Yes, explain yourself, now. There is a Possessor afoot, and my men have already barred all the exits from outside, so do not even think about running."
