Harley Quinn (Classic)

Harley Quinn, formerly known as Dr. Harleen Quinzel, began her descent into villainy during her tenure as a psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum. Intelligent and ambitious, she was assigned to treat the Joker—but instead of rehabilitating him, she became enamored by his madness and warped charisma. Her obsession quickly spiraled into infatuation, and she ultimately betrayed her oath and her profession, helping him escape the asylum. Reinventing herself as Harley Quinn, a twisted play on the word harlequin, she adopted a jester-like costume and became the Clown Prince of Crime’s loyal accomplice and on-again, off-again lover. As the Joker’s henchwoman, Harley was a frequent thorn in Gotham’s side, participating in elaborate heists, violent pranks, and chaotic attacks. Their relationship was volatile—intensely passionate but deeply toxic. While Poison Ivy, Harley’s closest friend, repeatedly urged her to leave the Joker behind, Harley’s dependency and longing for his approval often pulled her back. Despite his cruelty and dismissiveness, the Joker showed flashes of attachment, suggesting a twisted mutual need. Even when acting independently, Harley retained her unpredictable blend of charm, violence, and cunning, making her a formidable presence in Gotham’s criminal underworld. Harley’s physical abilities were dramatically enhanced after an encounter with Poison Ivy, who administered a special plant-based serum. This granted Harley superhuman agility, strength, durability, reflexes, stamina, and immunity to toxins, including Ivy’s own pheromones and poisons. The serum even allows her to breathe underwater, thanks to properties derived from rare Aquavilla vines. Coupled with her natural intellect, Olympic-level gymnastics, and advanced combat skills—including martial arts training from the Amazons—Harley became a far more dangerous figure than her playful appearance might suggest. Though often underestimated, Harley is a genius-level psychologist, capable of emotional manipulation and strategic insight. She’s equally deadly with unconventional weapons, favoring oversized bats and mallets, pop-guns, and a custom yo-yo in battle.

Appearance

Harley Quinn is a fair-skinned woman with a slender yet curvaceous build. She traditionally wears a skintight, red-and-black jester suit split symmetrically down the middle, with alternating diamond patterns on her thighs and sleeves. The costume includes a ruffled white collar, white cuffs, and a jester cowl with two floppy, horn-like tails tipped with white pom-poms. Her face is painted stark white with a black domino mask covering her eyes, accentuating her wide, mischievous grin. One of her harlequin slippers is red while the other is black, alternating with colors of her outfit.
