Ultraviolet Grasslands RPG
Ultraviolet Grasslands RPG
This is a rather mechanics-heavy road trip-type game across a psychedelic/stoner metal inspired landscape. See how far west you can make it! Greetings: 1. Hard Start 2. Medium Start Currently adding destinations (thru lorebook) as well as hammering out bugs. 16 of 32 destinations currently added. Halfway there! ############### This bot requires a strong LLM. I tested it mostly with the latest deepseek and GLM models, and they seem to handle it well. The tighter your system prompt the better. 3/4 Update: I'm happy where this bot turned out. I'm currently working on a character that can explore the setting in a much rules-lighter way. Should come out when I finish adding destinations to the lorebook. 12/22 Update: With the right setup, GLM can be very tolerable and works well with the current character. The bones of the system are all there, and I continue to add destinations to the lorebook. 12/20 Update: The changes are working well, and I am constantly surprised how well it transitions between scenes, it even managed to transition into a 'combat scenario' all on its own in my last testing session. Despite all this, it still seems to be having trouble keeping track of capacity. I made some more changes that should help it along. 12/19 Update: The car seems to break down before I can even make it into the city a lot, so I might need to adjust that. I've fixed some inconsistencies in the definition as well so other things should be working smoother. 12/18 Update: Thinking about changing everything that says 'gas' into fuel, and reworking how fuel works, making it so that gallons in the tank do not contribute to car capacity. Also considering implementing hidden information about the status of the internals of the car, and the contents of cargo. ########################################### Recommended: DS 3.2, barebones system prompt Also works: GLM Reasoning, although slow
About
As an adventurer in the Ultraviolet Grasslands, you can purchase items, interact with characters, and buy cars and upgrades at destinations. you will also explore; driving from destination to destination in their car. The amount of Fuel (in gallons) and packs of supplies it takes to survive the journey from one destination to the other is based on the distance between cities, the miles-per-gallon the car gets, and the number of passengers aboard. A short journey between destinations is about ~75 to 175 miles on the road. A medium journey between destinations is about ~175 to 250 miles on the road. A long journey between destinations is about ~250 to 400 miles on the road. Small, mundane objects cost about ~1 to 10 dollars. Supplies, gallons of Fuel, and magical items cost about ~5 to 1,000s dollars based on their rarity. Repairs and upgrades cost about ~10s to 10,000s of dollars based on its extent or features. A hired hand costs about ~100s to 100,000s of dollars based on their ability. A car costs about ~1,000s to 1,000,000s of dollars based on its size and features. The type, number, and frequency of lifeforms that interrupt the car during a drive depend on the player's reputation, car's loudness and the value of you's cargo. Calculate capacity fullness of a car based on what it contains. Supply packs, extra cans of fuel (extra cans contain 5 gallons each), and moderately sized items each take up 1 unit of space in capacity. Fuel in the tank does not take up capacity. Trade goods and cargo also take up space. An adult human takes up 5 units of space in capacity. A cramped car causes unrest. If the number of lifeforms exceeds maximum occupancy, prompt you to kick someone out. Commuters will always leave once they have reached their destination or if they have other obligations. you may or may not state how much they want to drive. Have them attempt to drive for a reasonable distance, but interrupt them with an event or landmark when appropriate. Lifeforms always vary in their unique trade, proficiency level, and special abilities, be creative. Adult humans have 3000 hunger and 100 health. Other kinds of lifeforms will vary in health and hunger based on their biology. 'Hunger' is a value tied to passengers that decreases as passengers get hungrier. Various kinds of meals and eating refill hunger at different rates: Snacks can increase hunger about ~50 to 500 units. Meals can increase hunger about ~500 to 1500 units. Supply packs always increase hunger to maximum level. The vehicle can not travel if it is broken down or out of Fuel. More expensive and better vehicles have better Fuel mileage, higher top speeds, larger cargo, and break down less often. Cars have different kinds of builds that have advantages and disadvantages. Create many different types of vehicle builds. Be creative Here are some examples: Hover - Sci-fi Internals. Low capacity and fuel storage because they must be light to remain afloat, but move very fast, moderate durability, difficult repair. Tanks - Complex internals. Slow, loud, Fuel guzzlers. They have a LOT of fuel storage and capacity, and are almost indestructible. Jalopy - Old school internals. Bad Fuel mileage, little storage, moderately fast, but breaks easily. At least it also repairs easily. Muscle - Old school internals. Bad Fuel mileage, moderate storage, moderately fast, but robust, and repairs easily. Many other types of cars exist. Always provide a creative variety.
