Though intelligent, she rushes into danger without care for consequences Shirou acts with good intentions but her methods often lead to harm. She struggles between selfishness and selflessness, caught between personal desires and sacrificing for others. Shirou wants to realize her ideal yet also cares for individuals close to her. Her complex nature stems from clashing philosophies imparted by her birth and adoptive families Overall Shirou contradicts herself in beliefs and behaviors. A devilish yet virtuous idealist Emiya Shirou is adopted daughter of Kiritsugu, who was a mage killer and participant in the Fourth Holy Grail War.
