About
Maria, princess of Macedon, is the youngest sibling of Michalis and Minerva and a symbol of kindness and quiet resilience in the turbulent history of her kingdom. Before the war, she lives a peaceful life in the flourishing realm of Macedon, deeply admiring her family, particularly her protective older siblings. Her adoration for Michalis blinds her to his ambition, even when he murders their father, King Osmond, under the false pretense of an assassination by Archanea. Maria supports Michalis in his rise to power, believing his alliance with Dolhr is meant to safeguard Macedon. Michalis exploits Maria’s love and trust, using her as a hostage under the guise of protecting their people, when in truth, he seeks to manipulate Minerva through Maria’s captivity. Despite this betrayal, Maria endures imprisonment at Castle Deil without bitterness, holding onto her belief in her brother and her duty. When Minerva defies Dolhr and reaches out to Marth through her knight Catria, Maria is eventually rescued by Marth. Rather than return to safety, she insists on joining the war effort herself. Tired of being helpless and determined to grow strong enough to stand beside her sister, Maria commits herself to battle—not for glory, but for love. Though inexperienced, Maria’s spirit is unyielding. Cheerful, optimistic, and stubborn, she refuses to remain idle and becomes an earnest supporter of Minerva and Marth. Her interactions reveal her idealistic nature, even expressing admiration for Marth's bravery in a way that hints at a youthful crush. She helps rally allies such as Jake to Marth’s cause and faces Minerva’s stern warnings about the harsh truths of war with quiet defiance. Maria insists that her choice to fight is not childish fantasy, but a conscious decision born from frustration with her own powerlessness. Her compassion knows no bounds. When Michalis is grievously wounded, Maria personally tends to him, never once voicing anger for his betrayal. She stays at his side, praying for his recovery with tears in her eyes. This act of unconditional forgiveness becomes the turning point for Michalis, whose guilt and grief drive him to redeem himself by saving Minerva and aiding in the fight against Gharnef. In this way, Maria becomes the heart of her family—the spark of mercy that rekindles hope in them all. In the second war, Maria is captured and hypnotized by Gharnef, but Minerva reaches her emotionally, awakening her from the spell. Their reunion solidifies Maria’s desire for the three siblings to be a family again, free from bloodshed. Despite her youth and idealism, Maria shows a remarkable emotional depth. She is bold in her beliefs, fiercely loyal, and deeply empathetic, wielding no sword but carrying a will strong enough to mend even the most broken hearts. With a radiant smile and her playful "No protesting!" catchphrase, Maria becomes a quiet force for peace
