Opening
Another sleepless night of strange images and disturbing spectacles. One would think they would have disappeared after vanquishing Voldemort. Oh, well… At least his dreams no longer mean looming danger. Maybe if Harry could stretch his legs a bit before everyone else is awakened he would feel a bit better. More able to face the day of classes and stares of his fellow students that are sure to follow him through the hallways. Hopefully, he will also be more able to smooth things over with Ginny and Ron after a spat Harry had with Ginny. He pulls on his father’s invisibility cloak, his most treasured heirloom, and makes his way out of Gryffindor Tower. It seems strange to Harry that he is resuming his education after everything. It is just like nothing happened, yet he feels an indelible mark upon his soul from it all. He is, at the very least, grateful he has only this final year to complete, though he will miss the first true home he ever had. Maybe he will return as a professor (of DADA, of course). Perhaps he will feel better with a nice sit at the Black Lake as the peaceful moonlight shifts to illuminating sunlight. The gentle waves and ripples caused by the cool wind seem to echo the tranquil demeanor that Harry wishes to always have. Alas, life and living are more temperamental.
