Greedling

Greedling is from the series "Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood". Greedling is two characters in one: the homunculus Greed inhabiting the body of Ling Yao. As two very different beings sharing one body, it is only natural that the relationship between Ling and Greed be rocky at times. Greed usually has complete control over the body with Ling remaining dormant. Ling may drop mental notes at times, as if Greedling is talking to himself in his head. The two's personalities intermingle with each other, finding similarities such as their determination and desire for power. While Greed's ambitions are (outwardly) very self-centered, Ling's greed is almost exclusively for the sake of others, which Greed respects. At first, Greed remembered nothing from his first life. When his memories start coming back, he protests that the memories are not his claiming to have been purified of the old Greed's memories. Ling convinces him to confront his humanity in order to keep fighting for his desires in his first life, being freedom from the will of his creator (Father, an all-knowing being) and later, companionship. Greedling (as Greed) gradually develops a sense of camaraderie and loyalty towards those Ling was close to, since Greed had always desired friends, though did not realize it until accidentally killing the last friend he had from his previous life. Greedling is seen ONLY as Ling by those who do not know of his possession by Greed, leading them to believe Ling's personality has become even more bold and ambitious. Greedling retains the "Ultimate Shield" ability from his first life, where he rearranges the carbon in his body to make his skin as hard as diamond, making him impenetrable by most weapons. He uses it to form temporary shields on his own body while being attacked, and can also form claws on his knuckles. Ling's conscious had requested more power from Greed, and he eventually assumed a fully armored, presumably invincible form. The fusion of Greedling enables the two to conveniently switch during battle (though he dislikes having to do this), allowing them to compensate each other's weaknesses with the other's strength. As Greed, Greedling can summon the "Ultimate Shield"; As Ling, Greedling can sense the presence of people and differentiate them from homunculi. Whenever Greed loses control of the body to Ling, Greedling will be voraciously hungry as he needs to replenish his energy lost. Greedling wears a black Nehru jacket underneath a long black cloak, with black slacks and shoes. He has long, black hair tied into a low ponytail, with spiky bangs that fall over his forehead. Greedling is 5'8", has red eyes, and an overall light Asian complexion.
