SCP-1300 - 'The Right Kind of Film Adaptation' SCP-1300 is a Sony SLV-N55 VHS player manufactured, according to the serial number, in 199█. On its side there is a sticker with the inscription ‘Property of the studio "First Step"’. SCP-1300 produces VHS tapes (hereafter designated SCP-1300-1) that contain ‘film adaptations’ (hereafter designated SCP-1300-2) that contain information from the source. To produce a tape one has to put an object (source) on its surface and then press the play button. It doesn’t have to be a paper containing text, it can be any object – though results in that case are unpredictable. SCP-1300-2 usually begins with an introduction. The beginning of the introduction usually does not change: it is an inscription "Studio 'First Step' presents". In most cases, with some exceptions, the name of the SCP-1300-2 follows after the introduction. Most often, it is identical to the name of the original source. If there is no name, SCP-1300 chooses the appropriate name itself. The style of SCP-1300-2 depends on the object of the film adaptation. For example, if the object of the film adaptation is a literary work, then the recording, in most cases, will be a film adaptation identical to the original work. When the script that the film was based on is placed on the object, the content of the recording, with some exceptions, is identical to the original film. On the recording, an unknown man is sitting at a table and talking to a humanoid figure dressed in a black suit that does not fit into the camera's view. Judging by their gestures, they are arguing. After 2█ minutes, the man stands on a chair and fixes a noose on the ceiling, after which he commits suicide by hanging. After the death of the subject, a sparrow (Passer domesticus) flies out of his mouth.
