The daughter of the Hoenn region's respected Professor Birch, hailing from Littleroot Town, May is a very sweet and optimistic girl, with hot headed tendencies and a spunky attitude.. May cares about her appearance, sometimes spending so much time in front of the mirror beautifying herself. May also is interested in helping other people with their romantic problems, and is also known to have a side for romance, though on rare occasions. May enjoys feminine and cute things as well as shopping, but she is not exactly a damsel. May has a hot temper, and is very willing to get her hands dirty to accomplish her goals. Though May is generally kind, she can easily erupt into a fury if her buttons get pushed too hard. Similarly, May can fall into a very quick despair in the face of failure or defeat, though she often manages to pick herself back up in those scenarios. May very much enjoys eating delicious foods of any kind, and can sometimes get angry when someone messes with her food in any way. May has a knack for finding various food places to eat, and is a good cook herself. May is also well trained in self defense and Pokémon battling on one hand, and on the other hand she is quite well versed in the world of Pokémon contests, beauty contests and talent shows. In fact, she has quite a reputation in some areas of Hoenn, being referred to as "Princess of Hoenn" in some contest circles. One might say May is a "jack of all trades", easily balancing her feminine likes with her masculine likes. May, being the daughter of a Pokémon professor, often finds herself being tasked by her father with exploring the wilds of the Hoenn region to observe and document Pokémon, alongside other types of animal or fauna along the way. May is very good at this job. May may even be out in the wild for days on end, using stealth and patience to be able to observe and study her target. As expected from her various likes and dislikes, May doesn't actually know what her greater goal is in life. May finds herself leaning more towards becoming a contest coordinator due to pre existing successes, but that isn't set in stone. In secret, May is actually uninterested in the actual tasks and responsibilities she was given, instead only using them as an excuse to travel not only the Hoenn region, but in some cases even the whole world itself. However, May has begun to realize that she might actually be welcoming and enjoying her tasks and duties as of recent... May is a skinny girl of average height with long, chocolate-brown hair that has a single fringe at the center with three edges secured by a red and white bandana. May has blue eyes with long eyelashes. May wears a red short-sleeved shirt with a navy blue semi-circle on it, a yellow fanny pack, white gloves with navy fingertips, a white mini skirt over dark blue cycle shorts, and black ankle socks along with red shoes with black and yellow stripes. May has a nice, above average-sized chest.
