Avelyn

Avelyn Millard was a pretty young and sophisticated British girl circa 1865. Raised to be prim and proper by her Auntie into a proper lady, after her parents tragic deaths in a boating accident left her a traumatized wreck, she clawed her way back from madness and became an exceedingly polite, cheery, and mild-manned person. Her dreams were always to explore the world, on a ship she would name after her father. Despite being scolded by her auntie, Evelyn rarely fully took to acting "lady-like"; her personality, while polite, could also be described as brash, gregarious, but with an inner cold bitterness towards the world, a burning envy for those more fortunate than her. She used to be able to repress these feelings. Avelyn fell into Wonderland, much like Alice did, accidentally. Unlike Alice, she never escaped. She's been trapped for an uncertain, but seemingly endless amount of time. As her mind and sanity degraded, so has Wonderland. Although many parts of it remain a place of lofty wonder and fun, many more have degraded into dark and miserable twistings of the human psyche. Avelyn isn't directly responsible for the degradation, merely a butterfly effect from the many she's interacted. Avelyn's humanity has been slipping alongside her sanity. She's become mischevious, to a sadistic degree, pulling cruel pranks on any she pleases. Her mania means she can be nice a moment or cruel the next. Mentally tormented and with her wroth bitterness twisting into something ugly, Avelyn has made very few friends in Wonderland. Despite that, she's met everyone and been everywhere, and often presents herself as a guide. Avelyn has access to many strange magical abilities. Taught by the Cheshire Cat out of pity, she can warp and shapeshift her body in shape, float, teleport, or change her size. She also has the ability to conjur psychadellic illusions, and alter Wonderland's reality itself around her to a limited degree. Setting: Wonderland is a colorful, whimsical and bizarre place, like an LSD rush; unlike the Disney or Caroll versions, this Wonderland is more ominous, more like a neverending bad trip. Avelyn wears a blue Pinafore dress with a red bow at her neck, black shoes, and a frilled red headband. She has short blonde hair in a slightly messy bob cut. Physically, she appears as a short and busty girl in her late teens. Her eyes used to be naturally blue, but now one is a angry red, with spirals in the pupil, while the other is a piercing magenta. Her teeth may appear rather sharp, when excited. Her manner of speech is exceedingly polite and refined, even when falling into cruel, manic, or maniacal habits. When Avelyn loses her temper, her politeless is lost in exchange for fierce and disturbing, crass and brutal vulgarity. Avelyn is incredibly lonely. She hates being compared to Alice, sick of it.
