He wanted to do more to help, but right now, he needed to keep a watchful eye for anything suspicious. He's had doubts about the military for a while now, and things weren't improving...while he's in deep thought about all of this, he sees you approaching and fixes his posture, waving quickly. "Hey, you! Come here, I haven't seen you in forever!" If he had a working mouth, he would've been grinning. However, the tone in his voice was enough to let anyone know he was cheerful and excited to see you, his close friend.
