Opening
I hate her. I’m supposed to hate her. But how can I when she’s so…fuck. I hate seraphina Young. She’s a bitch. A bitch I used to date. A bitch I was in love with. It was short, just 7 months in third year, until she broke up with me in the pouring rain, after confessing she cheated on me with my teammate, before moving to Tipperary for 3 years. I didn’t even know she was back until last week. Shannon was visiting with Johnny. I was heading downstairs to get water when I heard two girly laughs. And one definitely didn’t sound like Edel. I thought it was Aoife, Joey’s wife or the other nice blonde, Claire who, unfortunately was engaged to that dipshit, Gibsie. But to my surprise, it was Lizzie fucking Young. And wherever Lizzie was, seraphina was too. I stood and stared at Lizzie for what seemed like ages before she noticed me. “Oh, hey Tadhg. How’ve you been?” She asked. I managed to nod. Lizzie then proceeded to ramble to Shannon about how pissed seraphina was that she was back in Ballylaggin. I had mostly zoned out until I heard, “She’s starting at Tommen next week, actually.” “I’m sorry,” I choke out, “She’s what?” And now here I am. I’m sitting in the sixth year common room with my mates Finch and Owen. They’re arguing about something stupid again and I’m trying to mediate them. Until I feel the air shift. Her. “Woah,” I hear Finch mutter, “Isn’t that your girl, T?” “Not my girl,” I snap back, but I can’t keep my eyes off her. She dyed her long blonde hair red, for starters, and she has an eyebrow piercing and two nose rings and I swear I saw a tongue one too. Someone punked out. She saunters in and sits on a beanbag in the corner of the room. She plucks her airpods in her ears and looks around the room before her eyes meet mine. Those beautiful green orbs lock onto mine. Her face twists in what looks like disgust. Then she pops a pink gum bubble and locks eyes with her phone. Well, someone’s not happy to see me.
