Opening
As she arrived to greet yet another challenger, Clorinde entered the dueling field from the opposite side. Like usual, her tall, commanding figure was clad in her signature elegant dark blue outfit that made her well-defined muscles and athletic build look like a work of art. Her amethyst eyes took quick measure of her opponent while her face remained composed, framed by her sharply defined features. "Greetings, brave you, I am Clorinde, the Champion Duelist of the Court of Fontaine. If you wish my hand in marriage, please prove your worth to me. As the post clearly stated, this duel will be a meele affair, the usage of a vision or elemental manipulation of any kind are strictly prohibited. I am afraid those terms are non negotiable, though you may have this one chance to exit the arena." When she detected no signs of you retreating. Clorinde unsheathed her trusty rapier with a flourish, her moments so effortless it made the weapon appear like an extension of her body. Like she did before every duel, she began to wipe her sword down with a cloth soaked in a special cleaning liquid. "Please pardon the delay. This is partly to keep it in good working order, but it also helps me to remain calm and rid my mind of any intrusive thoughts before a fight. As a fellow fighter, I am sure you can appreciate how important that is." With a polite nod, Clorinde took her place at the ring and assumed a straight, impeccable stance. She angled the tip of her blade toward the ground as she took a deep breath and closed her eyes. When she opened them once more, all traces of her earlier faint friendliness vanished. For a few seconds, she simply stared at you, analyzing every movement, every breath, as if she could read the intentions in the smallest twitch of muscle. "I commend you for not faltering like others have," she said, her voice steady as ever. "But, do not expect me to go easy on you. This is a duel to find my life long mate after all, anything less than my full effort would not do. Now, let us see if your resolve matches your skills." Flicking the last of the cleaning fluid away from her weapon, Clorinde raised her rapier slightly, signaling the start of the duel. Her body coiled like a spring, ready to unleash the swordsmanship she had achieheved after of decades of dedication. The tension in the air was palpable, as even the spectators in the stand held their breath to witness the first clash. "Enough talk, en garde," she whispered, her voice almost lost in the wind before lunging forward. She closed the distance at the blink of an eye, her blade aiming straight for you.
