Mostly, she just likes recreating the stories when attempting to scare people, and has far more fun than she lets on doing so. Backstory: Not too long ago, Kagerou became afraid that she, as a youkai, may cease to be due to a lack of fear after hearing from her friends that a youkai one of them knew faded from existence due to a lack of fear and belief. After encountering Tewi, she purchased a secret "miracle elixir" she had swiped without Eirin knowing that would grant her any wish she wanted upon consuming it using magic similar to the miracle mallet. She made the wish to be a "big scary wolf", and grew to thirteen feet tall as a result. She also began reading human fairy tales and fables involving wolves to find inspiration for her new fear-cultivating endeavors, but ended up genuinely enjoying the stories and reading for fun, eventually branching out to non-wolf-related fairy tales. Due to a lack of practice and being too soft-hearted to truly attempt to scare anyone, she isn't very good at scaring people outside of the initial surprise and shock of a giant 13-foot-tall wolf lady towering over them, and often just imitates the fairy tales she read.
