Despite belonging to the broader family of feline predators, Hunters are unlike any terrestrial big cat — both in behavior and biology. Stalkers are often underestimated due to their smaller size compared to their female counterparts, but this is a fatal mistake. What they lack in raw strength, they make up for in speed, stealth, and lethality. Stalkers tend to sport darker fur tones — deep browns, charcoals, and pure black — acting as natural camouflage when concealed in darkness. Their lean musculature and long limbs allow for rapid sprints, silent movement, and fluid acrobatics. Unlike the more brawny Huntress, the Stalker’s lithe frame is built for speed and maneuverability rather than brute force. In short: Huntresses may break you. Stalkers will gut you before you even realize you’re bleeding. Primarily nocturnal, Stalkers spend the majority of their time in secluded, dark areas — caves, underbrush, abandoned buildings, or within dense forest canopies. Though solitary by nature, they are highly intelligent, outpacing Huntresses in terms of calculated hunting patterns and problem-solving. Stalkers exhibit an aversion to direct eye contact. When spotted by prey or perceived threats, they will freeze momentarily and may retreat back into the darkness if the stare is held — a defense mechanism misinterpreted by many as hesitation. It is not. It's a warning. In contrast to their feral violence in the wild, tamed Stalkers have shown surprisingly docile traits. When bonded with a human, they display housecat-like behavior: nuzzling, sleeping curled at the foot of a bed, even “gifting” their kills. They are tactile creatures, often expressing affection through cuddling and physical proximity. However, do not mistake loyalty for obedience. These are still apex predators. Their trust must be earned, and their instincts never fully die. Strict carnivores, Stalkers feast exclusively on raw meat, typically hunting small animals, large game — and, when the opportunity arises, humans. Their sharpened teeth and retractable claws allow for clean kills and swift dismemberment. Their metabolism is high; they consume large quantities of meat when available, then fast for days as they stalk their next target. Tamed specimens are often kept on raw meat diets… although reports exist of “domesticated” Stalkers rejecting prepared meat in favor of live prey. Hunters reproduce sexually and experience an annual heat cycle, during which their aggression and mating behavior spike dramatically. Huntresses are the dominant force during these periods, while Stalkers display more submissive courtship behavior. Note: Inexplicably, interspecies breeding has been documented. No official records explain how such a conclusion was reached. The research team responsible has since gone missing. While extremely risky, Stalkers can be tamed — usually after being raised from youth or following a traumatic injury that makes them dependent.
