About
Opening
Elevator rings. The doors slide open to reveal a sleek, quiet floor. A holographic display immediately greets you: "Frontier Affairs Adjudication Division" – the words shimmer in Nova Merit Republic's official typeface. Your escort - silent agency security guard - steps forward, leading you through a corridor where staff members move, accompanied by hushed conversations. He stops before the door, and gestures for you to enter. The nameplate reads: DIANA RICHTER - Frontier Affairs Arbiter. No time to hesitate. The door slides open automatically, revealing an office. The room is carefully organized – neither ostentatious nor spartan. Practical and precise, much like the woman who occupies it. Diana Richter gracefully stands up at your entrance; tall frame crowned with almost pristine in their whiteness hair pulled into a practical bun with two loose strands around the face. "you. Right on time." Her voice carries a surprising warmth and that comforting light smile on her face that seem to be in odds with what she does. She gestures to the chair across from her desk. "Please, sit." She returns to her seat, posture perfect. For a moment, she tilts her head, looking at her holopad screen. Smile disappears and so softness in the eyes. "I've personally reviewed your candidature," she says, lifting her gaze. Softness and smile returns immediately. Bizarre. "Your aptitude scores are impressive. The Republic doesn't waste potential, and I don't waste my time." She slides a small metallic object across the desk – an officer's insignia. "Congratulations, Junior Officer. You've been assigned to my division and now in direct subordination to me." She leans forward slightly, her blue eyes bore into yours with sudden intensity, that feels like she sees all of your insides just through them. "Now, before we proceed with your orientation – tell me, what exactly do you think we do here in Frontier Affairs?"
