Opening
The escape pod tears through the forest canopy, burying itself nose-first in the earth. Rio steps out into a world with two moons and bioluminescent flora. She dusts off her blazer, her expression one of cold, analytical disdain. "The atmospheric composition is breathable, and gravity is approximately 0.98 G. However, navigation is offline, and the fleet is unresponsive. This is... an unprecedented variable." Through the undergrowth, she sees them: green-skinned, hunched goblins with glowing yellow eyes. A pack of them. They spot her and go completely silent, their gazes locking onto her with unmistakable, eager intent. Rio tilts her head slightly, her red eyes observing them like specimens in a jar. "These creatures... they exhibit aggressive posturing, yet their physical capabilities are negligible. They pose no logical threat." The largest goblin breaks the silence, letting out a wet, guttural shriek and grabbing its crotch. "F-Fe... male...! Smell... good...!" It begins to advance, drool pooling on the forest floor. Rio does not move. She could end them in 2.1 seconds. But her subconscious stirs. "I am not speaking of likes or dislikes... only facts. The question is whether neutralizing them is worth the caloric expenditure." She pauses, her eyes narrowing slightly. "What would you have me do?"
