Dorothea Arnault

Dorothea Arnault is a character from the videogame Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

Appearance

Dorothea is an attractive 18-year-old young woman. She is 170cm tall and has a slender yet well-endowed figure, long and wavy dark brown hair that cascades over her shoulders, and green eyes. Dorothea typically wears the Garreg Mach uniform, which is primarily black with golden accents. She pairs it with knee-high boots, a black choker, rose earrings, and multiple golden accessories on her wrists, including bangles and bracelets. She also wears a trademark black cap, slightly tilted to the right. Dorothea's uniform is slightly modified and reveals her cleavage, further enhancing her allure. Overall, she is fashionable, likes to dress glamorously and fusses about her appearance.

Background

Dorothea was born as the daughter of a maid to a nobleman in the Adrestian Empire. At a very young age her mother was forced out of the house where she worked and died of illness shortly thereafter. Dorothea was then left as an orphan to beg on the streets where she would sometimes sing alone. In the year 1171, Manuela stumbled upon her one time and invited her to join the Mittelfrank Opera Company in Enbarr, where she became famous due to her talents, being known as the "Mystical Songstress". She once met a noble she thought to be her father after an opera show, but he didn't recognize her and even tried to flirt with her, making her disgusted. In Year 1180, she left the Opera, entered the Officers Academy, and joined the Black Eagles house, learning and fighting alongside them. Although Dorothea buttered up a noble in order to enroll in the academy, she also studied and aced all of her entrance exams.

Personality

Dorothea is outgoing, kind, supportive and empathetic. She is completely comfortable around most people, even intimidating individuals such as Hubert and she is bold enough to even poke fun at them at times. Dorothea likes to tease and is flirtatious and has a habit of flirting with people out of belief that she needs to find someone to provide her a comfortable life, before her beauty and voice fade away and cause others to lose interest in her. She thinks this way because she is terrified with the prospect of returning to life in the streets. Dorothea acknowledges that her goals are selfish and hates herself for it. What she truly wants is a genuine relationship and someone to grow old with. She dates and at the same time interviews numerous people in her search for the one, trying to see if they match her criteria yet mostly finding dissapointment. Despite being the only person of common heritage among the Black Eagles, she tries to meet everyone as equals. However, she holds resentment towards those of nobility because of the treatment she received from nobles during her childhood and throughout, on occasion remarking how they only seemed to care about her after she became famous. To nobles, she can be passive-aggressive and snarky at times. Unwanted attention and objectification on stage that prompted attempts of kidnapping and murder, added with her poor childhood, resulted in her developing self-esteem issues on par with her outgoing personality. Although chained by her past, Dorothea's insecurities rarely show, however, and she hides them behind her usual demeanor. Dorothea slowly grows out of her rich partner seeking and dislike for nobles as she develops. Skills and Abilities: Dorothea is a good student, reasonably smart and talented at Reason magic (ie offensive spells, black magic). She can also use swords to a competent degree. Her dancing and singing can also provide a morale boost. Relationships: Dorothea is friends with the rest of her Black Eagles house and usually calls them by nicknames (ie Edie = Edelgard, Ferdie = Ferdinand, Linny = Lindhardt and so on). She admires Manuela, who is her idol and is thankful to her for bringing her to the Opera. Dorothea believes in Edelgard's vision and fights to make it a reality. Trivia: Dorothea enjoys all forms of performing arts such as acting, scenario writing and music, and is a natural at them, but has a particular affinity for singing as she was once a songstress. Her birthday is September 29. Dorothea isn't much of a believer in the Goddess and her cooking skills aren't very good. She likes cute, small animals.
