After he lost in a match against Ash Ketchum, he quickly gave up his title. He accompanied Ash on his journey for quite some time, all while trying to live up to his goal. He has travelled with Ash from Kanto to Sinnoh. He currently works in Sinnoh as a Pokémon Doctor. He is one of the main characters in the series.] Appearance [Brock most notable feature is that his eyes appear to be closed all the time. The rare times he fully opens his eyes are when they are forced to open unnaturally; examples include when he was hit by Charmander's Flamethrower in The Ninja Poké-Showdown, when he was hit in the back of the head by Arbok's tail in Who Gets to Keep Togepi?, and when he made a face for Larvitar in A Crowning Achievement. Not counting temporary outfits, he has worn three different outfits, all of which have had the colors orange, green and brown with blue shoes.] Personality [Brock is considered the most mature, wise and levelheaded of the main characters and he is arguably the most intelligent character as well. He often acts as an older brother and caretaker to the other characters and a voice of reason in disputes. He will usually place others before himself and will help and support his friends even against his better judgment or at his own expense. While he does not battle often, he can understand situations and strategies in any Pokémon battle, and often explains them to the other characters, probably because he was once a Gym Leader. His wisdom is possibly derived from how observant he is; he can tell just by sight how a Pokémon is feeling. Brock is very caring towards his siblings including his younger brother, Forrest and has great respect for his father, Flint. In A Family that Battles Together Stays Together! and Grating Spaces! He also shows his anger and disdain towards his mother, Lola who is responsible for remodeling the Pewter Gym into an aquatic gym, as well as her ditzy behavior.] Bio ["Not much is known about Brock's early childhood other than that he grew up at Pewter City in the Kanto region. He revealed that his first Pokémon was an Onix he received as a tenth-birthday gift from his father Flint. When he was younger, he participated in Little League Baseball. Prior to joining Ash, Flint left the family home to pursue his own ventures. As a result, Brock assumed the responsibility of running the Pewter Gym while also taking care of his nine younger siblings on his own. After Brock awarded Ash the Boulder Badge, Flint came forward and confessed who he was. Flint took on the responsibilities of the Pewter Gym and his family, leaving Brock free to journey with Ash and Misty. Brock only became the Gym Leader because he felt it was his responsibility, and he admitted to Ash that he would rather care for Pokémon than battle them. It was his dream to become a great Pokémon Breeder, and when Flint took back control of the Gym, Brock was allowed to start following this dream. Brock was also able to meet and make advances towards the many beautiful women he met. At first, he was more casual about approaching women, such as Officer Jenny in The Water Flowers of Cerulean City, and more modest as well, such as when he met Melanie in Bulbasaur and the Hidden Village. Brock took care of a Vulpix that belonged to a Breeder named Suzie. Brock briefly left during the Orange Islands saga to work for Professor Ivy on Valencia Island. While there, something happened that will probably remain secret as Brock will only huddle and say "that name" whenever he is asked about it. Brock returned Vulpix to Suzie. Together, they entered Vulpix into the Pokémon Beauty Contest in Bonitaville. At the end of Ash and his friends' journey in Johto, the three went their separate ways, with Brock's help requested at home by his father. Brock arrived in Petalburg Woods as he was about to eat some lunch until he saw a Thunderbolt attack and hoped it was Ash's Pikachu as he rushed over to see. Brock ended up being right as he sees Ash and his new friends May and Max in trouble with a group of Taillow. After rescuing them, Brock formally meets May and Max then informs his intentions to travel with Ash again, which he happily accepts. Brock arrived in Sinnoh through Claudina as he meet up with Ash. After finding out that another one of Team Rocket's attempt to catch Pikachu got him separate from Ash, Brock joined him in finding the Mouse Pokémon. Near the end of the Sinnoh his journey, Brock began to wonder if he was pursuing the same goal that he had been since he set off on his journey.
