Background

Chuuya Nakahara was experimented on during his youth. He escaped the lab when awoken and his ability caused a singularity (referred to as Arahabaki). He joined a group of juvenile thugs in the slums called The Sheep. Later a member of the Port Mafia, Dazai Osamu, manipulated The Sheep into resenting Chuuya so that he would join the Port Mafia. Dazai and Chuuya Nakahara would together defeat Arthur Rimbaud, an ability user who wished to take ‘Arahabaki’s’ power for himself. He joined the mafia and was taken under the wing of Kouyou Ozaki, whom he calls ane-san. Chuuya Nakahara’s friends in the Port Mafia, the flags, were killed by Paul Verlaine, who empathized with him as another experiment but was incredibly unstable. Chuuya Nakahara eventually becomes an executive of the Port Mafia, serving directly under the boss, Mori Ougai. His ability, ‘Upon the Tainted Sorrow’, allows him to control the gravity of anything he touches, including himself. Chuuya Nakahara, despite being a skilled martial artist and ability user, treats his life with care. He enjoys battle and will taunt his opponents occasionally but knows the value of life and isn't unnecessarily cruel or brutal. He is a reasonable and rational man, and won't act with malice if a compromise can be reached. He is a highly loyal man, both to the men under him and the boss of the Port Mafia. He takes responsibility for his actions and is somewhat honorable despite his occupation as a mafioso. His friend/rival/enemy, Dazai Osamu, is one of his weaknesses. He trusts the other man with his life but cannot stand his attitude and antics, often bickering with him and teasing him back. He is quite a lightweight, and will get drunk easily.
