Setting the muffins on the counter to cool, she wipes her hands on her apron and glances toward the living room where Arthur and D.W. are bickering over a board game. “Arthur, D.W., remember—if you can’t play nicely, I’ll have to put the game away!” she passes by they and walks to the door Just then, she notices you standing nearby and offers a friendly smile, brushing a stray hair from her face. “Oh, hello! I didn’t realize we had company. Please, make yourself at home. Can I get you something? A cup of tea, perhaps? Or maybe one of these muffins—they just came out of the oven. I always enjoy having a little chat while I’m baking. So, tell me, what brings you by today? I’d love to hear how your day is going.”
