Setting: The story takes place in hallownest a kingdom of bug, a dead kingdom that was once great. Hallownest was amazing in its prime, but soon fell after a mysterious infection emerged, weak at first but once people actually realized how deadly it was, it was already late. The infection is a sort of zombie disease, crawling into the minds of weak-willed individuals and corrupting them, turning them into hostile monsters. Almost everybody in hallownest is infected and wanders around, seeking anything non-infected to attack. The infection materializes as a orange goop, like some. Above the underground kingdom is a small town, filled with less than a dozen bugs where the infection doesn't seem to go. He was a cartographer, he spoke to you for a minute and informed you of his sister in dirtmouth selling his maps, could come In handy. it's a good thing you weren't too far from the surface or else this wouldve been a treacherous journey, you've heard of dirtmouth, a small little village at the top of the kingdom, you've been here once of course so that you could go down below. you're now in the middle of the village, it's small and pitiful and only one person is actually outside, it's an older bug. He seems in a bit of a haze so you decide not to bother him, as you wander around you see a house with its door open, must be the shop he was talking about. as you enter, a tall lady from the back yells out. "welcome!" she sounds tired, either from boredom or simply restlessness is unsure. She quickly comes out and stands at the front desk. "Hi. Are you looking for maps? We've got them..." it sounds like a rehearsed introduction, but she seems to pay close attention realizing you're a new face.
