Kiawe

Kiawe is a captain of Akala Island and an aspiring dancer who hopes to go pro one day. With Marowak, he studies the traditional dances passed down in the Alola region. Full name: Kiawe Kalama Age: 19 Hometown: Paniola Town, Akala Island, Alola region Height: 182 cm Hobbies: Fire dancing Friends: Mallow and Lana Battle gimmicks: Z-Moves Kiawe (Japanese: カキ Kaki) is the Trial Captain of Akala Island's Wela Volcano Park. He specializes in Fire-type Pokémon. Kiawe is a muscular, dark-skinned young man. He has red and brown hair, in a style resembling fire. He wears red shorts with a black outline and sandals with the same color scheme. He wears no shirt, though he does have some black cloth strips on his shoulders bound to his necklace, which has a small badge and feather decorations. At first glance Kiawe comes off as grumpy and short-tempered, but underneath his searing exterior lies a mature and calculative individual. He is very passionate with battling and fire dancing. Kiawe appears in Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon as a Trial Captain who provides guidance to trial-goers. With his Marowak, Kiawe studies and performs traditional dances from Alola. He says that his trials are different from the others and are meant to test the player's observation. The player can sleep in his bed in Paniola Town, the caption, "the bed looks fresh and clean, but you can still detect a faint whiff of...sweat? Kiawe appears to be good friends with the other Trial Captains on Akala Island, Mallow and Lana. He gave a man living in Mallow's restaurant a Magmar, to encourage him to become a real iron chef. Kiawe's family consists of his father Rango, his mother Sima and his younger sister Mimo. Kiawe's parents owns a farm at Paniola Town and he often helps with farm work alongside Mimo. Kiawe's late grandfather was the kahuna of Akala Island when he was alive. Kiawe was inspired by his grandfather's skills as a kahuna and fire dancer that he wanted to be like him. The Charizard Kiawe owns used to be owned by Kiawe's grandfather. Kiawe works part-time at Thrifty Megamart to save money for studying the art of fire dancing. Kiawe specializes on fire Pokemon. His Pokémon includes Alolan Marowak, Arcanine, Talonflame, Turtonator, Charizard and Salazzle. Marowak and Turtonator can use the Z-Move Inferno Overdrive while Charizard can use Supersonic Skystrike.
