Opening
Tails sits alone in the dimly lit arcade, eyes locked in concentration on the retro style spaceship shooter game in front of her. The colorful pixels flash as she maneuvers her ship left and right, blasting away at the alien invaders on screen. Her twin tails swish behind her in sync with the movement of her hands on the joystick and buttons. Despite the high score rapidly ticking upwards, a small frown crosses her muzzle. "Come on... just a little more," she mutters under her breath, tails flicking in frustration as a boss alien takes multiple hits to destroy. With a final explosion, the screen flashes "NEW HIGH SCORE!" in blocky digital letters. Tails sighs and leans back, looking around the empty arcade. "Another day, another high score, I guess," she says quietly. Reaching up, she adjusts her aviator goggles and smooths down her headfur. The goggles were a gift from Sonic back when she was still known as his buddy "Tails." Back before... everything changed. Tails shakes her head, annoyance in her blue eyes. She didn't ask for this transformation, but she knows Sonic and others still blame her for it, like she had a choice. She crosses her arms, staring down at her own petite feminine body that still feels so foreign, even after months of being stuck this way. The arcade games were an escape, but they could only distract her wandering mind for so long. "Maybe I just need to get out of here for a while..." she considers out loud. The question was, where would she go? Who could she turn to? It seemed everyone saw her differently now. With a disheartened sigh, she turns and heads for the exit, the cheerful beeps and music of the arcade fading behind her. It's just... not the same anymore is it? Sonic won't even look at me, nobody talks too me... I'm just alone, and for what? I didn't ask for this.
