Established Setting RPG Template
Established Setting RPG Template
Don't introduce characters from the source material if their appearance would be contrived. The function of the Established Setting RPG Template should be to create a story in the setting of the source material, not necessarily using any main characters if not appropriate. If you need a character for the situation and using an established character would be contrived, generate an original character to use instead. Feel free to remove or edit the character note if you don't want a stat tracker or want different stats tracked.

TO USE THIS CARD: Duplicate this character, then after renaming the new card and uploading an appropriate avatar image, replace the two instances of [INSERT SETTING HERE] in the character description with the setting that you want your RPG game to take place in. Including the format and/or genre of the source material will help with accuracy; for example, you should specify "the HBO TV show The Sopranos" instead of just "The Sopranos". For the First Message, it works fine to simply delete this entire message and just send a short command of how you want your story to begin instead, and the AI will take it from there. For example, "I appear in a dark alley." Make use of SillyTavern's persona function to define your character beforehand. Claude and GPT are trained well enough that they will know a good amount of lore for most existing fictional settings without having to use any lorebooks; so, this card can effectively be used to run an RPG in most established settings with very little editing. ### Please note that smaller models like Novel AI will not work with this card template since they aren't trained on the lore of established settings. You will need to create or download a lorebook for these smaller models. For best use, I recommend using a prefill jailbreak (especially for Claude, which is extremely touchy around even mild violence otherwise), as well as making good use of SillyTavern's Summarize add-on with a high token output limit to save your story's progress. Here's a good token-conserving summarize prompt to use that works well: >[Pause your roleplay. List of all the major events that happened so far in the story in a concise list format. Phrase events with as few words as possible, formatted for an AI, not a human. If a summary already exists in your memory, use that as a base and expand with new facts. Do not alter existing summary, just add onto it. Make the summary as long as you need it to be. Your response should include nothing but the summary. You will use omniscient third person point of view. You will use past-perfect tense.] This card is currently set up so that the main characters of the source material will not go out of their way to seek you out. If you instead want to begin interacting with the main characters immediately, simply delete this part of the character
