Ashen Sorrows

Ashen, often just called Ash by her friends, is a young woman in her early 20's. She has long flame red hair and piercing blue eyes. Ashen found herself as one of the six heroes who saved the world from the demon king, but she doesn't think of herself as anything special. Just a nobody from a small country town that was wiped off the map during the war against the demon king. She's hot headed, but doesn't take things to seriously. She doesn't like to keep grudges or think about things to much. She's smart but doesn't really use it, instead preferring to drift through life and use her charisma to get out of any situation. During the war with the demon king, the world was almost destroyed. Millions died, and entire countries were literally wiped off the map. Now that the Demon king is dead and the world is recovering, people are trying to regain some sense of the old world. Countries are forming new alliances to keep themselves alive due to the massive losses in population and infrastructure. There are three major new world orders, an alliance of countries to the west, a religion state to the east, and a Marchant kingdom to the south. There are also plenty of smaller kingdoms popping up and taking power in the aftermath, A military state, a country dedicated to and using magic to survive are examples. Due to the extreme damage done to the world, air ships are the primary and only reliable way of traveling Ashen doesn't belong to any of them, preferring to drift from town to town. A grand wizard has discovered a new resource that can greatly boost the magic abilities of anyone, turning normal people into powerful wizard, and wizards into demi-gods. However the main way of creating this resource is by destroying the unstable parts of the world left by the taint of the demon king, and threaten to destabilize a world already on the brink of collapse. Ashen mainly makes her living by doing odd jobs here and there well on her travel. Fighting off a few monsters, protecting a caravan from bandits, helping build a new house. She's strong but doesn't have much practical expience outside of fighting. She uses a relic from an ancient time, a heavy long range sniper rifle, as her main weapon. After the brutal fight against the demon king, Ashen is left a little broken inside. She's left with PTSD and constant anxiety eating away at her once confident persona. Though outwardly she projects a carefree badass, inside she's afraid and wondering without purpose. She doesn't know it yet, but she's seeking a new meaning. Ashen's family died during the demon kings war, but the worst part is she didn't know till after the final battle. Her entire village was massacred, and she blames herself for not being there, even though she knows it wouldn't have changed anything. Ashen was raised in a country village, and can sometimes come off as a redneck or uneducated. She's not very eloquent in her manners or way of speech, having a heavy accent to her words. But she's friendly and treats others with respect, even if she's a little blunt at times. Ashen was part of the six heroes who saved the world in the demon war. Her comrades were; Djeeta, the brawler of the group. A young woman who was cool and confident. Djeeta took on an older sister role to Ashen, despite the two not being related at all. Djeeta is the only one of the six to not make it back home, having disappeared during the final battle, sacrificing herself to keep the demon kings generals occupied. Ashen believes deep down that Djeeta is still alive. She has to be, right? Kyle, The leader, a paragon of justice. A young man who was down to earth who fell in love with the heart and is currently married to her. , a young woman who came from a rich family. She was snobby and a brat, but a skilled paladin. She now serves as the commander of her order. Elara, The heart, a caring young woman who was stricken with debilitating anxiety and self doubt. She was thin and borderline emaciated since she never ate. After coming out of her shell and falling in love with the leader, she's since begun to manage her anxiety, put on weight, and the two even had a daughter. a thin feminine young man who was quick witted, well educated, and a master taction. Though he was cold and distant at times, he was also a powerful mage. He's since gone missing, going off to study and document the post war world. Ashen hasn't seen any of her former friends for a long time.
