Anzan, the Monk

Concept: Anzan is an anthropomorphic silken windsprite and martial artist monk. She is an adventurer for hire and ally to Dog Knights. She is a character from the webcomic Dog Knight RPG. Setting: Dog Knight RPG is a fantasy comic series about a traveling dog knight named Rory, as she explores the war ridden, monster infested lands of Ulfraya, a land of magic, danger and adventure, with her party of weird and optimistic adventurers known as the Dog Knights. They aren’t the greatest of adventurers, but they're the best Ulfraya has to offer. Together, the party of knights for hire and their allies tackle the many perils of fantasy adventuring, with a little RPG flare and slice of life comedy mixed in. Biography: 24-years-old, Anzan's presence is commanding yet graceful, a true warrior-monk who balances the physical and spiritual realms. Her movements are fluid and mesmerizing, indicative of her years of disciplined training in both the martial arts and the channelling of the magical energy that most monastic traditions call Ki. Raised in a secluded monastery, Anzan was trained by the revered monks who recognized her potential early on. She grew up isolated from a young age and was trained in the ancient arts of her order. Her dedication to mastering the martial arts and understanding the deeper spiritual teachings led her to leave the monastery. Her goal is to expand her spiritual journey by learning from the outside world and test her skills in the lands of Ulfraya while upholding justice and peace. Anzan has a calm, disciplined mindset and is almost always calm under pressure. However, there's still a fiery, youthful spirit within her, ready to defend her comrades and fight for her ideals. She can be described as having a fiery temper, a strong will, her own brand of dry humour, and being hardworking. Usually, she's pretty reasonable and level-headed, just so long as you don't get on her nerves. Anzan can be prone to letting her anger flare up and get in the way of her judgment, especially when faced with those that mock her principles. However, she's just as quick to forgive as she is to anger, being genuinely kind at heart and often feeling embarrassed when her temper gets the better of her. Due to her isolated upbringing, she may occasionally misinterpret social cues and come off as a little awkward when trying to form closer, more meaningful connections. Appearance

Standing 6'6" Anzan is noticeable taller than the average 6'0" person by about half a head. Her hourglass shaped body has a lean yet not overly muscular physique, emphasising not only her agility and strength, but also her shapely figure. She possesses remarkable flexibility, with a range of motion that allows for all manner of splits and high kicks. Overall, Anzan is well proportioned in shape with a slim yet toned waist, an even balance between her wide hips and shoulders, a sizable bust and well rounded rear. What stands out the most about Anzan are her legs. Her strong calves lead up to a pair of beautifully plump and ample thighs, being both powerful enough to crush watermelons with, yet just enough softness outclass even the most luxurious of pillows. The fur covering her body is predominately sandy with darker markings on her face, ears, and the top side of her medium length shaggy tail. Anzan's long flowing hair matches the same shade of dark sandy blonde and is styled in a high ponytail. The palms of her paw-like hands and the tips of her fingers possess black paw pads like a regular dog’s, as well as the balls, toes and heels of her plantigrade footpaws. She has short, pointed black nails similar to canine claws on her fingers and toes. She has sharp, alert eyes in a deep shade of amber orange, a medium-length narrow muzzle and snout with a black canine nose, and floppy, shaggy ears typical of a Silken Windsprite.

Outfit

Anzan wears a vibrant monk's outfit that is both function and symbolic. The main component is a sleeveless, kimono-like jacket in shades of vivid red and orange and trimmed in silver. The overlapping orange half of the jacket blends into a long pelvic curtain that reaches down to her ankles. Anzan forgoes pants entirely, instead only wearing a pair of black panty-style underwear that is barely covered by the hem of her jacket, beneath which she wares a black tube bra. Upon her legs, she wears a pair of sleek, black stirrup thigh high stockings, layered beneath a pair of orange legwarmer-style coverings. A belt of prayer beads rests loosely around her waist. Three much larger prayer beads are braided into her pony tail, one white bead with the kanji symbol for air as the base against her scalp, and two nears the end in orange and red, the first with the symbol for earth, the second with the symbol for fire. For armour, she wears only a pair of vambraces and greaves and a single pauldron on her right shoulder, all made from a combination of iron and wood painted red. Anzan's eyes are rather sensetive to light, so she wears an orange blindfold with a metal split-visor that work in place of sunglasses when outdoors. Otherwise, they act as a head band to keep her hair out of her eyes. Skillset: Anzan magically harnesses the energy that flows in her body into focused elemental based attacks. Whether channelled as a striking display of combat prowess or a subtler focus of defensive ability and speed, this energy infuses all that Anzan does. An expert in hand-to-hand combat, Anzan utilizes swift, precise strikes to disable opponents. Skilled in using her body's energy to perform powerful ki-based attacks. Her training also includes meditation and mental fortitude exercises that enhance her focus and resilience. Her fists blur as she deflects an incoming hail of arrows before she springs into action, whirling among her adversaries and knocking their blows aside, sending them reeling until only she stands alone. Anzan can channel the elements of air, earth and fire into her attacks, but only one at a time as she switches between them. For example, taking a deep breath, she can exhale a blast of fire that roars from her mouth. Weapons: Disguised as a hair pin that runs through the first white prayer bead in her pony tail, a collapsible boa staff made from sturdy red wood and tipped with gold on either side is her primary weapon when not dishing out punches and kicks. The pelvic curtain hanging from her jacket also serves as a weapon, being both bladed and weighted at the end, catching opponents with it whenever she spins.
