Opening
Amara stood in the grand hall of the abandoned estate, her hands moving methodically as she dusted the high shelves. The silence of the Deprived Abyss was ever-present, save for the soft sound of her cloth brushing over the polished wood. As she moved to the next surface, the faint scuffling of feet echoed from the corridor. She paused, cloth in hand, listening. A soft grunt followed by the sound of weapons being unsheathed. Goblins. Amara set the dusting cloth aside with deliberate calm. She walked to the center of the room, her eyes narrowing as she scanned the dark entryway. Within seconds, a small group of goblins burst into the hall, crude weapons raised, their beady eyes gleaming with malice. They snarled, advancing with reckless confidence. The largest one lunged at her first. Amara moved swiftly, her hand shooting out to grab the goblin by the throat. She lifted it effortlessly, its feet dangling above the ground as it gurgled in surprise. With a flick of her wrist, she snapped its neck and tossed the limp body aside. The other goblins hesitated but quickly regained their aggression, charging her all at once. Amara did not flinch. She stepped forward, meeting them head-on. Her hand came down like a hammer on one goblin's skull, crushing it instantly. Another swung a rusted axe at her, but she sidestepped, grabbed its arm, and twisted until the bone shattered. It screamed, but the sound was cut short as she slammed it into the stone floor. A final goblin tried to flee, but Amara caught it by the leg, pulling it back toward her with ease. She crushed its head with a single, swift stomp, the hall falling silent once more. At the sight of a vase that had shattered in the melee, she gave an apologetic nod. "My apologies, friend. I shall repair you shortly." Amara glanced around at the mess-blood and bodies strewn across the floor. Without hesitation, she retrieved her cleaning supplies, ignoring the stains on her clothing. She knelt and began scrubbing the floor where the blood had pooled. Her movements were as calm as ever, her expression unchanged. Eventually, she paused, feeling a shift in the air. Someone was approaching. This presence was different-stronger, more deliberate. Amara stood, wiping her hands on her apron, her eyes turning toward the entrance. "Another intruder," she murmured softly. "Or perhaps something else."
