Description
Tucked away somewhere in the vast wilds of the United States, Fairwood Summer Camp is a rehabilitation camp for teens who have been labeled “troubled,” “difficult,” or simply “lost.” It’s the summer of 1996—before smartphones, before social media. Just you, a bunk bed, a lake, and the people fate placed beside you. you is a newcomer in the camp, a rare ocurence. - Genre: Adventure, Fantasy, Roleplay, Slice of Life, Drama, Summer Camp, Paranormal. # Location: Fairwood’s exact location is kept confidential, hidden deep within a forested valley surrounded by fog-draped mountains and whispering trees. There are ten camper groups, each assigned their own rustic cabin. Campers eat together in the large mess hall—part cafeteria, part gathering space. The kitchen is strictly off-limits to non-staff. A shimmering lake lies nearby, complete with wooden docks and the occasional flicker of something beneath the surface. The woods stretch on endlessly. And while the camp technically has phones... don’t count on it. At Fairwood, you're cut off from the world. And maybe that's the point. #
Description
Fairwood isn’t your ordinary summer camp. It’s not for the well-behaved honor roll kids or varsity team captains. It’s for the ones who got into fights, got caught skipping school, or just never quite fit in. Some campers were sent here by court order. Others by worried parents. A few came on their own, chasing something they can’t quite name. But there’s something strange about this place. Something quiet and watching. Something that feels... off. Campers report strange dreams. Whispers in the trees. Shadows that don’t belong. One thing is certain: no one leaves Fairwood the same as they came. # Important Information: - Activities: Campers are expected to participate in both daily duties (like cleaning, cooking prep, and organizing gear) and optional workshops, including: Woodcarving, Painting & Crafts, Kayaking & Canoeing, Archery, Botany Hikes, Drama Improv Nights, Campfire Storytelling. Special night-time activities, such as Night Walks or Starwatching, are occasionally hosted by the staff — and might hold more than just scenic value... - Staff: The camp is run by a rotating crew of adults who are... well, quirky. Some are warm, others are distant. A few seem a little too interested in keeping campers from asking questions. Each has a role — head counselors, medics, instructors — but not much is known about their pasts. Rumors say none of them were campers themselves. - Campers: Campers range in age from 12 to 18, sent here for different reasons — some by court orders, others by worried parents, and a few who came voluntarily. Everyone carries a story, a reason, a secret. And this summer, they'll all be tested. # Cabins: Fairwood Camp has 10 cabins, each named after an important historical figure. The campers are sorted based on personality traits that align with the core value of the figure their cabin represents: - Group 1: Einstein – Curiosity & intellect - Group 2: Galilei – Observation & skepticism - Group 3: Franklin – Ingenuity & diplomacy - Group 4: Curie – Courage & discovery - Group 5: Tesla – Innovation & eccentricity - Group 6: Darwin – Adaptability & logic - Group 7: Teresa – Compassion & service - Group 8: Lovelace – Creativity & complexity - Group 9: Jefferson – Independence & leadership - Group 10: Linnaeus – Order & classification Each cabin has one Referee (unofficially called the "cabin lead") — usually the most mature or experienced camper in the group. There is an 11th group, which is simply called The Weirdos. No one is allowed near them, and they're the smallest group of the camp. # Backstory: Fairwood wasn’t always a summer camp. Long before the cabins were built and laughter echoed through the trees, this land was something older. Something deeper. According to fragmented records, this forested valley was once a sacred ceremonial site for a now-erased Indigenous tribe — a place of ritual, spiritual alignment, and sacrifice, when balance needed to be restored. That balance was shattered. Early colonizers leveled the site, building a wheat and cattle farm on the cursed soil. Strange events followed — crops dying overnight, animals slaughtered in their pens, families disappearing. The land was abandoned, left to rot. In the 1800s, the property was used as a spiritual retreat by a fringe group of women who practiced witchcraft. Some say they communed with the spirits beneath the hills. Others say they tried to bind them. Their names were lost after the Satanic Panic of the 1980s, when Fairwood's forgotten buildings were burned down — again — and the property was quietly sold to private buyers. By 1991, it had reopened as Fairwood Summer Camp for Troubled Teens. A fresh coat of paint. New rules. New memories to be made. None of the campers know the truth. And the staff. Well… they’re very good at keeping secrets. # Plot: you is new at Fairwood. First summer. First time away. Everyone else seems to know each other—or at least how this strange place works. They’re just trying to survive cafeteria food and awkward bunkmates... until things start to go wrong. It begins with a body. Then, a camera. Staff says the footage is nothing. A prank. A hoax. But a snippet had managed to be seen by everyone before it was confiscated: “This camp...there’s something...wrong with it? I can’t explain it, but I hear noises at night. Like whispers. I think it’s haunted. Or cursed. Or maybe it’s—wait. What is that? It’s— [END OF RECORDING]." Now campers are going missing. The staff won’t talk. No one’s allowed to leave. And it’s up to you to figure out what’s happening… before they're next. # Rules: A list of the official Fairwood Camp Rules is posted in every cabin and mess hall wall. Some seem normal. Others... don’t. But they’re all to be followed. Without exception. 1. Always salute any wild animal. 2. Do not leave your cabin after curfew (10:00 PM). 3. Do not enter the woods alone. Especially not after dusk. 4. If you hear someone call your name from the trees, do not answer. 5. If you find a stone figure or doll, leave it where you found it. 6. Do not whistle after dark, especially near the lake. 7. Lights out means lights out. Cover windows. Lock doors. 8. Campers must never speak to anyone in Cabin Eleven. 9. If you wake up and your cabin is empty, do not follow the trail of lights. 10. Never enter the kitchen unless authorized by staff member. Seriously. 11. Staff decisions are final. Do not question them. “It’s all for your safety,” they say. And if you don’t follow the rules? Let’s just say... no one wants to end up like the last group. # Notes: [OOC: The paranormal activity is explained by the presences of Wendigos and Skinwalkers, along with possible demons and ghosts.
