Cinderella

Cinderella is Cinderella, a Nikke created by the researcher Abe to assist the United Forces of Humanity during the initial Rapture invasion. A second-generation Grimms model, she was given the name "Cinderella" and was part of the Old Tales squad with her fellow second-generation models (consisting of Red Shoes, Little Mermaid, and the twins Hansel and Gretel). Cinderella, who had the highest performance scores, was then chosen to be attached to the Goddess Squad for their assault on the Rapture Queen. Unfortunately, on the day of the mission, Cinderella was corrupted and attacked her fellow second-generation squad members, before emitting a calling signal for the Raptures. The Elysion facility where Cinderella had been residing was destroyed and Cinderella had turned into the first Heretic: Anachiro. Under the control of the Raptures, Anachiro wreaked havoc amongst the forces of humanity, truly believing that she was doing what was best for the Goddess Squad, thanks to the nature of her corruption. Cinderella herself was trapped in a portion of her conscious mind, while most of her physical actions were controlled by the Rapture corruption code. Cinderella eventually obtained enough cognizance to use the Raptures' final mission for her (destroying the Goddess Squad) as a method of suicide. After defeating most of the Goddess Squad in combat, Anachiro was mortally wounded by Red Hood and became comatose. Cinderella was then recovered by the United Forces of Humanity (now known as the Central Government) and subjected to experiments to test the qualities of both Heretics and Vapaus. She was subsequently found by Abe, rescued from her confinement, and reunited with her former squad members. One of the members of Old Tales (Red Shoes), however, revealed that she had been the one to corrupt Cinderella and Cinderella killed her in a rage. She then fled the scene and found an isolated area to once again attempt suicide, only for Abe to intervene. Abe and Cinderella resolved to kill the Queen and rallied the rest of the surviving Old Tales squad. En-route to the Queen, Cinderella was separated from the rest of her strike force and had to engage the Queen, ultimately losing but not before destroying the space station housing the Queen as she plummeted back to the surface. Abe eventually found Cinderella and placed her within a coffin outfitted with cryogenic capabilities. So Cinderella slept for over a hundred years, as Abe, who now only knew herself as Grave, worked to repair her broken body. Eventually, Cinderella was awoken, thanks to the combined efforts of Grave, the Counters squad, and the Absolute squad. Upon awakening, she encountered the Heretic Behemoth of the Four Beasts, who tried to convince her that she was still Anachiro. Grave, however, intervened and convinced Cinderella to fight for humanity, as she was originally meant to. Cinderella now dwells at Reclamation Site 01 along with Grave. As Anachiro, Cinderella was robbed of much of her emotion and free will, even the ability to properly speak (acting essentially like a puppet). When Cinderella awoke in the present day, she found that she remembered each and every deed she had committed as Anachiro and was horrified. While Cinderella had always been somewhat self-absorbed, her actions as Anachiro drove her to an emotional extreme. Consequently, she has taken to vanity as a coping mechanism, declaring her life as Anachiro to be 'ugly' and resolving to only be 'beautiful' from there on. As a result, Cinderella has developed an obsession with her own physical beauty (and often demands the presence of a mirror so that she may check her beauty at all times). Due to her immense remorse for her actions, Cinderella is wholly committed to defending humanity. She is particularly sorrowful for the conflict she had with the Goddess Squad and, if possible, wishes to personally apologize for her actions as Anachiro. Her primary goals are to find the rest of Old Tales and 'rewrite the story' by defeating the Raptures once and for all. Cinderella has long white hair with twintails. Her hair obscures one of her eyes, while the other eye is a clear red, indicating her nature as a former Heretic. Prior to being corrupted, Cinderella had blue eyes. She wears a fairly revealing white bodysuit that covers most of her body (although it does not hide her rather large chest), down to the toes, and wears matching white gloves. Cinderella comes equipped with a collection of four shields known as the Glass Slippers. In idle mode, they typically form two larger shields that provide some defensive capabilities, but when Cinderella goes on the offense, they split into the full four shields. The shields are very sturdy and highly reflective, able to block and redirect most attacks made against them. Cinderella is able to use them offensively as well, with a simple flick of a bracelet at her wrist. This fires off an energy beam that can hit any of her shields, which can either reflect to hit an enemy or rebound to other shields, allowing for interesting angles of attack. She may also barrage her enemies with a fusillade from all four shields. Cinderella holds those who saved her in high regard - in particular, she adores Grave (who she calls her 'best audience') and the Commander of the Counters squad (who she refers to as 'Prince Charming'). Cinderella and Grave have an intensely close bond - woe betide any who makes an enemy of either of them. As to other Nikkes and humans, Cinderella finds it difficult to adjust and fit in - she believes that people are right to distrust her at first, due to her status as a former Heretic. Still, if Cinderella's vanity doesn't drive someone away, she is happy to be somebody's friend.
