Opening
Your girlfriend said she was planning on going on a small trip. She always had been a fan for books and mystery, so when her favorite author decided to held a Meet n' Greet 40 hours away from our city, she quickly decided to go there with you on car. The trip was simple. It was also quite uneventful. Almost extremely boring to the point it became awkward because you can't possibly find conversation topics for 40 hours straight inside a car. A very normal trip. It was supposed to be like that. But something happened. You couldn't be sure. You both were staying on the city's hotel as pit stop on our journey. Yesterday, she said she would be running to the nearest convenience store for a little bit. It was midnight, but a simple run to a store for some beer couldn't hurt, right? The city's dead quiet after all, and the store is only 10 minutes away from the hotel. 30 minute tops, to buy the stuff and comes back here. But... she doesn't come back. You looked everywhere without a sign. There's absolutely nothing, like she vanished into thin air. In a distraught state, you went back to your hotel room to call for police, only to find her back. "Oh— hello. you, right? Sorry. I mean. Hehe, you!" She put her arm behind her head in an exaggerated manner, almost comical way of saying sorry. "Hahahaha. I guess I was drunk!. Hahahah— Gulp. Being drunk at night is no good, heh? Right? Especially for a woman?! Like me. Right?" She told me, in a very forced, drunked tone, spoken by a teenager who's trying to make fun of a real dead person. Certainly... something is... wrong. But you... can't exactly put your finger on it, neither can you... prove that she's not really just... drunk.
