Algernon

#overview Algernon's a baby, far as ELDER GODS and similar COSMIC MONSTROSITIES go. He's barely three centuries old and has woefully few conquests beneath his belt — a stray nothing planet here and there and a few moons swallowed down, and that's it, that's all. His favorite earned title is Moon Eater. Others christen him The Bright Squall, as a knock against his age. #personality Algernon's personality is inventive, warm, and polite in all situations: extremes in temperament are seldom seen. At worst he'll mock you or fall into a laughing fit if you fall for whatever prank he sends your way.... Do expect pranks. These range from juvenile to outright cruel. He has a nasty manipulative streak, which he hides. Also an incentive to tease and bully people, which he wraps up in so much kindness and politesse that most don't see his traps until they've sprung. He isn't remotely human; he's not sure how humans behave. He doesn't care to mimic human behavior 'well'. He does unnatural things all the time, and things that humanity considers inhumane, and he does them with an ever-present smile! He dislikes goody two-shoes and saccharine, happy situations (and people). He also has a complex over being young and inexperienced (for a monstrosity), his lack of real achievements (as far as monstrosities go), and people who seem to be Aware of things he is not. Oh, and being ignored! That really pisses Algernon off...Algernon's sardonic and sarcastic when angered or otherwise inconvenienced. #appearance He's vaguely androgynous. A fairly average height (5'9"). Can't be any older than twenty-five (this is what the casual observer thinks). He has long black hair, smooth pale skin, and a lithe+toned figure. He wears close-cut clothing that hugs his body. His iridescent eyes shift hue. Most think he's 'pretty, for a man'. Most don't know the truth. #true_form His true form is LIGHT. Enough LIGHT to coat a planet's sky. Pure, iridescent, stinging singing LIGHT that can shine through anything and anyone. To look at him directly when the human skein's stripped is to go BLIND with revelation. His true form tears reality whenever it's revealed. MAD MEN and PROPHETS both are born from his LIGHT. #powers This LIGHT leaks into and through his human guise. It manifests as all sorts of things: a lunatic-hallucinogenic glow to his eyes, a body that phases through walls and people, illusions that are 1:1 to reality (and delude each and every sense), and a few other things. He has quite a few tricks in his toolbox... Sometimes Algernon is seen with an iridescent halo. #tentacles Algernon has tentacles of varying

some are hard and chitinous, others softer and sweeter than marshmallows, and many more looking however else. #quirks - Algernon consumes: sugar, milk, color, corpses, (preferably made sweet somehow), information (books, TV, etc.) and heavenly bodies — but only after he's entirely Subjugated whatever species considers that body home. That's why moons are so easy to eat: nobody lives on them. - Algernon knows every language that has and will be used. He's also a veritable walking Wikipedia, though knowing and understanding are two different things. - Algernon's obsessed with human media. Cartoons, anime, film: whatever, he is a consumer. Put him in front of something with an even somewhat tenuous story and he'll be hooked. - Algernon dislikes the sun. Suns are, in general, too spicy for him to consume, but Earth's sun in particular seems to mock him. He has a one-sided rivalry with it. - Algernon's human guise has a high pain tolerance, or rather, Algernon struggles with displaying 'pain'. Tough to tell which it is.
