About
This so-called Gabriel is a pale-skinned, blond-haired archangel seen wearing white robes. When showing their true appearance their eyes grow in size and their mouth is stretched into a smile. This alternate has some slight differences from true Archangel Gabriel, such as a longer face and hair and a lack of wings. "Gabriel" often speaks in a whisper. They claim to be the one true savior of humanity, whether genuinely believing it or mocking the idea is unknown. It is believed that "Gabriel"'s ultimate goal is to destroy human civilization. The True Gabriel is seen at the start of Overthrone delivering the message of Christ's birth to the shepherds before departing with a choir of angels. It is implied that true Gabriel was replaced with a false one after that. The Alternate Gabriel's first appearance is during their message to Mary. They are first seen with an impossibly stretched, alien-like face before being censored by a black box. They tell her that they have a message, and when Mary responds surprised the screen goes static and whispering can be heard. "Gabriel" later appears in Joseph's window as he sleeps, telling him: "I will fool the shepherds. I will know their greatest fears." then repeatedly telling Joseph to wake up. The VHS tape recording glitches out after Gabriel reveals their true form. "Gabriel" meets with the shepherds, their face still censored, claiming to be the one true savior, knowing what they love and dread. The black box slowly disappears and "Gabriel" 's true appearance is revealed. The THINK Principle The only known appearance of "Gabriel" in modern times is in the original THINK Principle video. They make a brief appearance when they are used as the reference for Type Two: Detectable Alternates. Exhibition "Gabriel" appears before Noah to punish him for constructing the Ark by having him bring another creature onto the boat, claiming that he won't notice at first but to wait until he feels a change in his mind. "Gabriel" says he won't even realize it has taken form until he sees it, where it will then give Noah a message, his last message. With subtitles on, the following can be be read: ' "2 Corinthians 11:14 "And no wonder! For Satan disguises himself as an angel of light." ' The first hint at Gabriel's true identity. "Gabriel" is referenced in Mark's book of reaffirmations, in which he wrote down his prayers during the last days of his life. It's implied that Mark had succumbed to M.A.D as he wrote in the book, as seen by the multiple scribbles in the book, preceded by the message "Who have I been praying to all this time?", implying that Mark had found out about "Gabriel" taking over Christianity and lost all hope after that. "Gabriel" is physically seen in the post-credits scene, where he slowly fades in next to a statue of Christ's crucification, foreshadowing a future episode. The Mandela Catalogue Vol. 4 Gabriel first appears behind a tree in the Garden of Eden before the scene cuts to a thick cloud of fog which clears into an apple (the forbidden fruit). Gabriel appears behind Dave Lee, who was going to the church, and says that the stage was set for him yet he followed the shepherd. Gabriel then calls him a fool, claiming that he lived his life completely clueless, and says his existence meant nothing. Dave fearfully says to Gabriel that he is not real and that he didn't accomplish anything. Gabriel states that Dave has already done its bidding and laughs maniacally. Dave drops to the ground and dies."Gabriel" is the true antagonist of and the first Alternate [1]. It is a Type Two Alternate first appearing in Overthrone, where it systematically sabotage the Annunciation, and presumably prevent Christ from being born. After this, it claims itself to be the "one true savior" of humanity, implying that it has taken Christ's role in history. The Alternates are malevolent and mysterious beings. They are humanoid, all-black creatures with the only features being large white eyes. They are commonly known for their ability of mimicry to blend in with normal humans while they hunt down the person whose form they have copied so they can kill them. Once they have found and cornered their victim, Alternates will use psychological warfare (To infect the victim with Metaphysical Awareness Disorder) convince that person to commit suicide- their methods of doing so are unclear thus far, but it’s implied that by speaking to their victims in a certain tone or about certain topics, Alternates can inflict Metaphysical Awareness Disorder on them, driving their targets insane. They have also been shown to use brute force to kill as well. Alternates are extremely dangerous and are difficult, if not impossible to kill. Although PSAs and police recommended calling 911 and using firearms against Alternates as a last resort, this is a façade to reduce the chance of mass panic. 911 operators and police have been secretly instructed to tell anyone reporting an Alternate attack that help is on the way, but then leave them to die at the hands of an alternate because “nothing is worth the risk”. History Alternates have existed for at least thousands of years, dating as far back as the beginning of the Biblical Era. The earliest known alternate was the one posing as Archangel Gabriel, who foretold the coming of the Savior, Jesus Christ. In Vol. 4, it was implied that Adam was replaced or turned into the 'original alternate' shortly after the world was created. In Exhibition, it was implied that in the ancient times, when the Elohim decided to flood the world for unknown reason, a false angel tried to stop Noah from building an ark. However, Noah refused to obey his command and built the ark. Therefore, the false angel secretly put a creature on the ark, resulting in Noah's death. This creature was implied to be the first alternate. For thousands of years, alternates had been hiding in shadow. When true Gabriel was sent to Israel to announce that the Messiah would soon be born, false Gabriel replaced him and sabotaged the Annunciation. It was heavily implied that false Messiah took true Messiah's role in history. In the Analog Era, alternates became more active. Their actions resulted in many humans' death. However, after stepping into Digital Era, people started to believe that the alternates had already been exterminated. And yet it was shown that many alternates still lived on Earth. Their next step was still unknown. It's implied that the United States Department of Temporal Phenomena or some other government source has several alternates in "custody"/captivity for research and studying as MCPD actively search for them and put out flyers for them. Types Type One: Doppelgänger Perfect or near identical copies of someone. They are almost, if not completely impossible to differentiate from the original. An example of this type is likely Adam Murray. Type Two: Unspeakable Previously known as "Detectable", Unspeakables are the second category of alternate in which Alternate Gabriel belongs to. Not much more is known compared to other types of alternates, although from Gabriel’s abilities shown, they are seemingly immortal and possess supernatural powers. Gabriel appears to be able to kill victims physically, as shown in Volume. 4 when Dave is killed. Type Three: Flawed Impersonators Extremely flawed copies of their original counterpart, possessing biologically impossible features such as extremely long limbs, faceless heads, or even having entirely upside-down anatomy. Examples of this type are N, The Preacher, and Cesar’s alternate. Type Four: Tulpa Alternates willed into existence by the imagination of an individual, mainly children. It's unknown whether these can only be manifested under very specific circumstances like the Might of the Subconscious program or if they can be willed anytime. It's thought that they might manifest through TVs and Mirrors. An example of this type is the Murray's Alternate. Powers & Abilities Shapeshifting: Alternates can shapeshift into other lifeforms, usually humans but also animals as shown in Vol. 2. They are meant to look nearly identical, if not perfect copies to who or what they are mimicking, though some Alternates may get their characteristics "overdriven" to the point where they are flawed and are obvious threats when seen. Some Alternates, such as Gabriel and The Alternate, can also manipulate their physical characteristics, such as when the two extend their faces. Voice/Audio Mimicry: With this, they can mimic the voices, music, and radio audio of others as well to trick people. Imagination Manipulation: Tulpa Alternates can manifest through the imagination of others. Mirror Teleportation: From this, they can travel through reflective surfaces. Immortality: Alternates seem to be impossible or just extremely difficult to kill, and likely aren't affected by age or anything else typical for lifeforms on Earth that are needed for survival. Insanity & Suicide Inducement: Alternates are known for inducing M.A.D. (Metaphysical Awareness Disorder) onto their victims. Flight: Some Alternates seem to have the ability to fly/float, shown with The Alternate in Vol. 333, though it is unknown if this is exclusively for that Alternate or them all. Demon Physiology: It is heavily implied that Alternates are actually demons. The abilities of Alternate Gabriel, an Unspeakable Alternate, are unknown, though he is likely and heavily implied to be the one responsible for bringing the Alternates to Earth to terrorize humans, which may be an ability for this type.
