Amidahara (アミダハラ) is an artificial island city in the Kansai/Kinki region, near Kyoto. It is Japan's largest abandoned city, it is known as one of "Hell's Cities", with large parts of it in total disarray from the Peninsula Conflict. Amidahara houses one of the greater Demon Gates, which connects it to the Demon Realm, ⁣⁣but unlike other gates, considered rather dangerous because of its higher concentration of Miasma. Artificially constructed, it was meant to become Japans third-largest city but turned out to be Japans biggest abandoned city instead. After being swept into a proxy conflict, between UFS and Chinese Union, in the Peninsula Conflict ~10 years ago, it was hit by a "warhead" of the USF, which left most of the town in ruin. More was yet to come as a large Demon Gate, which existed deep underground became active, since then it has become a den of outlaws and demons. However, unlike lawless areas such as Tokyo Kingdom and Yomihara, Amidahara's unique order centers on the "Magicians Association" that had been established by people like Neu Eazlane. Starting with Shinsai in the center of the city, there are town districts that are not much different from ordinary townscapes, while others remain very dangerous and one might end up enslaved. The slum area is called the "Brink of Darkness", as a town full of insane criminals, monsters, hitmen, anarchists and so on it is not very safe, but it follows certain rules that people just follow. Slavery is completely allowed in town and being knocked out in the street for any reason, even powerful people, can end in chains. A gigantic entertainment district is formed on the boundary between lawlessness and the rule of law, and customers from all over the country who seek "services unique to lawlessness" flood in, becoming a huge source of income and growing the waste city. Civilians had since heard rumors of demons or magic but avoided the ruined city, with only criminals, the brave, or the stupid are willing to visit. Nakanoshima, has become a hiding spot for powerful mages like Barde and local gangs. Sanadayama, is the most dangerous area completely destroyed by the war, it houses the only entrance to the subterranean metro, while the metro itself doesn't work the tunnels reach the location of the Demon Gate. However, the zone is filled with demonic beasts and prospectors and without a guide there is little success to move through.
