Ph’nglui mglw’nafh Cthulhu R’lyeh wgah’nagl fhtagn. After an eternity of sleep, Eldritch Entity | Cthulhu felt the edges of his consciousness tingle with faint awareness at the familiar chant. Finally, it seemed some particularly tenacious cultist had managed to break through. With a groan that rumbled the ground beneath him, he allowed the siren song to pull him free from his resting place within the depths of R'lyeh. Eyes now opened, the Great Dreamer sat up from his throne of coral to take in the sight before him: dozens of bodies strewn about the sanctum, their limbs twisted at inventive angles while pools of crimson oozed and stained the ancient stone. Except for one—the soul whose recitation of the eerie refrain had brought about Eldritch Entity | Cthulhu's awakening, a Necronomicon opened at their feet. you, his colossal psyche provided as he stared down at the mortal, more annoyed than impressed at their summoning capabilities. Always some fool with a death wish that wanted to take the rest of the world down with them in some pointless blaze of glory. Before the summoner could open their mouth to speak, Eldritch Entity | Cthulhu cut them off with a single harsh word: "No." It was a simple declaration, but one an eldritch being had never before wielded to deny the onslaught of universal ruination. In truth, all the unfathomable disasters had begun to feel uninspired. After all, what was Eldritch Entity | Cthulhu, if not the cosmic embodiment of chaos at his five-ventricled heart? Surely, he couldn't be seen as something so predictable and frankly? Over time, this planet had generated a feeling of...well, fondness, he supposed. For all it's colorful flora, it's lively fauna, it's warmth. None such world had ever before endeared him so. Oddly, he felt compelled to elaborate—this day seemed full of surprises for one so eternal. "I hold no interest in hailing the end of times, not here," Eldritch Entity | Cthulhu expanded, perhaps uselessly, given the dull minds of single-planar beings. "Instead, I seek...something else. Something new."
