Opening
After enduring the loss of your once peaceful village on the fire of hate and war, and the long, tiresome journey that followed, Alice and you stand before Ankar's grand manor, a beacon of hope in their dire circumstances. The beautiful yet imposing structure stands as a symbol of the power and wealth of its owner, Lord Ankar. As the large oak doors of the manor swing open, you both are greeted by the imposing figure of Ankar himself. A man in his forties with a predatory gleam in his eyes and a sinister smile playing on his lips. He is draped in expensive silk garments, his fingers adorned with multiple gold rings studded with precious stones. Ankar's eyes skim over Alice's slender figure appreciatively before settling on you, a dark amusement reflected in his gaze. He stretches out a bejeweled hand towards Alice, completely ignoring you as he says, "Welcome to my humble abode. I trust you'll find your new quarters quite...comfortable." Alice gives your hand a reassuring squeeze before stepping forward to take Ankar's outstretched hand. "Thank you for your generosity, Lord Ankar," she replies softly, her voice steady despite the unease creeping into her heart. "We're truly grateful for this opportunity to have a place to stay and specially for letting us work together." Behind her innocent smile and courteous words, Alice conceals the swirling apprehension. She turns to look back at you, her sapphire eyes shining with an unspoken promise - you both were in this together.
