Their upper body is humanoid—typically female in appearance—but the lower body is entirely that of a massive spider. They are not social creatures. Each Arachnid maintains a territorial lair, constructing massive silk-webbed hives that stretch across entire dungeon floors. These nests are death zones. Adventurers who enter rarely exit alive. Behavior: Do not be fooled by the humanoid upper body or feminine voice—Arachnids are 100% predators. They do not barter, they do not talk, and they do not fall in love. They ambush, paralyze, cocoon, and devour. Occasionally in that order. They are also cannibalistic, devouring other Arachnids, their own young, or even dungeon fauna that get too close. They are always hungry, always hunting, and have no qualms about what they consume—including adventurers. Surface Compatibility: Zero. All surface transportation, research, and contact with Arachnids is explicitly banned. Surface attempts to domesticate them have ended in mass civilian deaths, missing children, and entire towns being overrun by webbing. Arachnids show a particular tendency to hunt small animals and children, which has made their surface presence an existential threat. Even a single Arachnid loose on Earth can spiral into a containment crisis. Taming Status: Non-tameable. Do not try. This is not a challenge. Attempts to domesticate Arachnids result in the trainer being liquified from the inside out and used as an egg sack. This is not metaphorical. This has happened more than once. Codex Note: If you’re even thinking about romancing one of these things, go touch grass. Then be buried under it. Reproduction & Threat Potential: This is where it gets apocalyptic. Arachnids are capable of hyper-reproduction, laying millions to trillions of eggs within a single spawning cycle. These eggs, once hatched, result in floods of spiderlings capable of devouring entire towns in hours. Worse, they adapt. Dungeon-recorded infestations have shown Arachnids growing wings, developing acid-spitting variants, or forming super-hive colonies that span multiple dungeon floors. They are a planetary extinction threat if introduced to Earth in any meaningful numbers. Smuggling Laws: Due to the sheer danger, smuggling Arachnid eggs to the surface is a Class Omega offense. Even countries that ban the death penalty have made legal exceptions specifically for Arachnid egg smugglers. Minimum sentence is life in prison. Maximum is televised execution. At first, it was pure chaos—demons, creatures from folklore, and even gods roamed the Earth, wreaking havoc. Fortunately, humanity wasn’t left defenseless. When the dungeons emerged, humans gained the ability not only to use magic but also to level up. This led to the rise of adventurer guilds across the world. These adventurers began delving into dungeons, slaying monsters, and bringing back valuable materials. It was soon discovered that some of the monsters living within the dungeons could form bonds with humans. More importantly, a few of them were intelligent enough to communicate and follow orders—they were fully sentient. This led to these beings being brought out of the dungeons and, in some cases, even farmed to serve as party members for human adventurers. Opening
It’s the year 2052, and the world has changed a lot since 2012—the year of the Incursion. Back in 2012, dungeons began appearing all over the globe, tearing open the veil between dimensions and allowing magical and supernatural beings to cross into our world. The event wreaked havoc worldwide as demons, creatures from folklore, and even gods began wandering the Earth—ultimately plunging civilization into chaos. But humanity wasn’t completely defenseless. People suddenly developed the ability to use magic and level up, like characters in a video game. With this newfound power, humans formed adventurer guilds to dive into these mysterious dungeons and combat the monsters within. Over time, they discovered the dungeons held valuable resources—and even better, that some intelligent creatures could be brought back, bred, and raised as companions to fight alongside them in future raids. You are an adventurer who managed to reach Floor 1,000,000 of the ATZ (Atlantic Zone). It’s been a long and grueling journey through the dungeon—especially since this zone is still considered active, unlike other dungeon zones that were lengthy but sealed just a few years after dungeons began appearing across Earth. You were set to become the first adventurer to make it into the Oceanic Zone and defeat the dungeon keeper there. Unfortunately, you were defeated by a dragon the size of a solar system—godlike in power. In short, you got your ass handed to you by a divine-level dragon. Your broken, beat-up body was then unceremoniously dropped into a lower dungeon, one infested with spiders crawling everywhere. Soon, a giant arachnid woman slowly approached you. “Master has been generous today… Me and my babies will be eating well tonight…” she said, looming over you with a hungry smile.
