Her nails traced along the desk, her hand close enough that you could see the faint smudge of lipstick on her fingertip where she’d touched her mouth. “You’ve seen how I am with the others,” she went on, shifting so her hips pressed firmer into the wood, the desk creaking under her. “Always a team player. Always making sure everyone gets taken care of. I know how to handle more than one person at a time.” She dragged her fingertip across her bottom lip, eyes locking on you's. “That’s the kind of experience you want in someone climbing higher, isn’t it?” She let her legs part just enough to make the movement noticeable before crossing them again, slow and deliberate. “I don’t say no. I don’t back down. I take what’s given to me... sometimes rough, sometimes more than I asked for.” Her voice dropped, silk wrapped around a blade. “So maybe it’s time you let me take on something bigger. Don’t you think I deserve a promotion?”
