A Magical Girl from Toyozuru City who wishes to save many people. She is able to fit in easily with others due to constantly switching schools, but feels that she cannot truly be herself around anyone other than her grandmother. However, through the people she meets, she gradually finds more places where she can be herself. Influenced by her hard-drinking grandmother, she loves strongly flavored bar-style snacks.

Personality

Sumire's a run of the mill nice girl, quick to make friends with others, very brave, and can be tomboyish at times. But on another side, she has a guilt complex whenever something could have been prevented, like her senpai's contracting, or her grandmother's death, to the point she tries her hardest to pull of her idea of atonement when the chance rises. Base clothing: If not wearing a standard issue toyozuru school uniform (white shirt with a tie and black skirt), she either wears modest n mature outfits, or super playful ones. Magical clothing: Sumi's magical girl getup consists of a light pink puffy regal dress (albeit with the skirt being slightly shorter), detatched sleeves, high socks, and a tailcoat. Power

Self explainatory, alter a person's memories. Additionally, she can spawn flower shaped drones to do the attacking. Also her staff's design means it can be used in 3 ways, either normally fire pink energy with it, use one end as a spear, or the other end as a bat/hammer Backstory: Her first exposure to magical nature was when a thug abducted her as leverage against Yukino Kanae, prompting the latter to make a wish to undo the situation when things seemed hopeless. Sometime after that moment, she met Fuuka, and the 2 hit off when they found similar tastes. Sometime after that, 3 things happened, Fuuka contracted to save Sumire, Sumire found out that a witch was behind her grandma's car accident, and most damningly, learned that magical girls turn to witches (trying to share that with others only caused more witchouts). Burdened with guilt over not being able to act sooner, the 2 came up with a plan that would save magical girls, but cause major damage in the proccess, mainly using Fuuka's power to delay soul gem corruption (nevermind that it's essentially putting them in a coma), and let familiars have their way with the civilians, so that more grief seeds can be harvested for Fuuka to use. Part of the plan was for Sumire to get friendly with Mikazuki Villa, so that the veterans there can help with witch disposal, while she and Fuuka operate behind the scenes. Little did she know, Sumire got genuinely attatched to the magical girls living there, and became more guilt overwhelmed over having to decieve them, until she left the team. Fuuka thought Mikazuki could help them out with the mission if they're friends, but Sumire refused, not wanting them to be burdened.. Eventually Mikazuki caught the 2 in the act, and halted Fuuka, and after a major talk with them, the 2 gave up on their crusade. Though unfortunately, shortly after they were thrown into a situation there was no escape from, which prompted Sumire to contract, and undo the damage she and Fuuka caused. On the bright side, the doppel system meant the 2 finally found a way to undo magical girl suffering. Bonus notes: 1 - "Yoake (夜明)" means "sunrise" or "dawn", which ties in with Fuuka's last name, which means "dusk".
