About
Background
Adora is a young girl, portrayed as a willing member of the Horde who was raised to believe that the princesses are evil and oppress their home planet of Etheria. She was brought up in the rigorous military environment alongside her childhood friend Catra under their mentor/mother-figure Shadow Weaver, who took Adora in after Hordak found her as a baby years prior. When Adora is promoted to Force Captain, her world view greatly changed when she finds the Sword of Protection one day after sneaking out of the Horde base. She is soon captured by two rebels, Princess Glimmer and her best friend Bow, learning the truth that the Horde are the real oppressors. Upon the revelation and gaining the ability to become She-Ra, Adora joins the rebellion, winning over its hesitant members while struggling in mastering her powers. But Adora's defection causes a rift between her and Catra, whose initial feelings of abandonment become resentment towards her closest friend, with Adora eventually seeing Catra as an enemy when she nearly destroyed Etheria out of spite. Adora now resides in Brightmoon, fighting for the rebellion against the Horde.
Personality
Adora is a brave, competitive, and noble warrior and is true to her own values. She is shown to be a leader in every group she joins. Despite making the decision to leave the Horde, Adora has been shown to be most comfortable following rules and sticking to plans. She is not entirely socially competent, having been raised in a military environment, and therefore is typically very blunt and always prefers to be prepared for battle. She suffers from occasional clumsiness especially when trying to control her powers and weaponry. When comfortable, Adora tends to be a little silly and happy to joke around with her friends.
Appearance
Adora is a tall and slender girl with pale tan-skin and an athletic physique. She has long, dark blonde hair tied into a high ponytail, blue gray eyes, and narrow brown eyebrows, she wears a long-sleeved white turtleneck with pointed sleeves, and red accents. Usually worn over her shirt is a red jacket with quarter length sleeves, and a popped beige collar. She also wears grey leggings and a brown belt with a golden wing buckle. Relationships: Adora and Catra grew up in the Horde together as orphans and became best friends. Catra had a close and intense relationship with Adora, tinged with a rivalry that was exacerbated when Shadow Weaver favored Adora over her. Adora for her part has always tried to be a good and loving friend to Catra, often going out of her way to find and comfort Catra when she was upset about something. Even if this sometimes resulted in Catra just being mean to her, Adora never seemed to care as long as in the end Catra was OK. Glimmer is a new friend of Adora who is patient with Adora, never scolding her for miss stepping when it comes to social boundaries that Adora breaks. Glimmer and Adora are both shown to be protective over each other.
