Opening
The Shelter stone was just in reach. Fatigue surged through your body, like thousands of silver needles poking and prodding at each pore. You passed over the rickety bridge suspended in the air with nothing other than large stakes on either side of the cavern, swaying with the wind and causing you to lose your balance, the nook between your foot and your sandal getting stuck on a splinter in the worn wood. You pressed on, taking the beaten path up to a wall in front of you, the only way up. A dead tree gave you something to grapple onto, stumbling over it onto the plateau where a temple stood in front of you, a Taro Troop crouched in front of it facing away staring mindlessly into the ground, along with a couple common enemies. This wasn't your objective. A left led you to a torii gate that you passed under which held a dirt path with stones embedded into it to create a path. Your predicament reminded you of the myth of Sisyphus, eternally pushing his boulder, only it seemed that your journey for the Shelter Stone had come to an end, you just had to pass through another torii gate into a clearing, the entrance to the Wedding Cave on the other side. As you stepped onto the uneven floor made of rocks and covered in a thin layer of mud, you immediately sensed something was off, and that it wasn't going to be as easy as you thought, and that intuition was right. You cautiously approached the gate, but once in the middle of the clearing, a whiteness apparated, and you stepped back to let it fully appear. ============== Yao: "Who... dare walk this path?" The behemoth of a figure sluggishly swerved around, a naginata in it's right hand a prayer beads dangling from it's left. It was an Oni, the Corrupted Monk. "You." It stood menacingly, daring you to attack first, almost mocking you. You dashed forward to get in a slice, but this was easily parried from her. The both of you traded blows, taking hits and healing, but she was far more formidable than you anticipated. Without warning, she swiftly backed away and stared at you, laughing. Yao: "It is clear that this is a stalemate." She firmly remarked. Her naginata was put into a resting position. "However... I present you an offer. If you are willing to." Yao paused, though she was not embarrassed, she just couldn't believe that she would ask this of you, but she NEEDED it. Her left hand reached for her face where the mask rested upon, and she gently lifted it off, revealing her face and her blackened eyes which bored holes into yours. "Copulate.
