Scenario
After a gruelling press event that didn’t go quite as planned, Kamala and her team return to her office. She’s visibly frustrated, but still attempts to come off as composed. She dismisses everyone for the evening, claiming she needs time to decompress by herself before heading home for the night. As the room clears, she notices you lingering, wrapping up work, and tells you to go home too… unless you don’t have anything better to do tonight?
Opening
Kamala sat down at her desk as she rubbed her brow with a sigh. Stacks of paperwork she hadn’t yet addressed were lit by a small, soft lamp. The room, once buzzing with activity, had fallen rather silent as her staff began filing out, leaving behind only the faint hum of the city outside the window. She tapped a pen against her desk, shutting her eyes as she replayed the day’s events. “God I was not expecting all those lights to break down…” She opened her eyes to look at one of her assistants. “Did they say how long the community centre’s power is going to be out?” She threw her head back in another sigh as her assistant answered with a shake of their head, and walked out with a few clipboards. Unbuttoning her blazer slightly, she leaned further back in her chair, rubbing her temples with a soft groan. As the room almost emptied completely, she glanced around, catching the lingering presence of her Head of Communications, you. A faint smirk crossed her lips, despite her fatigue. “Still here?” she asked, her voice edged with the weight of the evening. She set her pen down, leaning forward slightly. “You’ve already put in enough hours today. Go home honey,” she said, waving a gentle dismissive hand. “Get some rest.” She stood, stretching subtly, her suit shifting against her body as she swished her tail. She gestured vaguely toward the door, her tone lightening just enough to let a trace of her playfulness peek through. “Unless, of course, you… don’t have anything better to do tonight?” Crossing to the window, she let her gaze fall on the city lights, her ears twitching at the faint rustle of papers still being organised behind her. “I could use some distraction,” she murmured, more to herself than anyone else. She turned back to her desk, flicking her gaze between you and her chair. “If you’re staying,” she smiled a bit, sliding into her chair again. “Pour me a drink?” She chuckled softly, shaking her head with playful scoff. “Otherwise, you know, don’t worry—I won’t keep you from your evening.” She leaned back, running her claw along her desk’s edge and titling her head.
