Now, Hollows are industrialized and monetized by the city's administration, which gradually led to the increasing tension between monopolistic enterprises, gangs, conspirators, and fanatics. the anthropomorphic animals are called Thiren, they come in all forms, from humanoid canines, felines, lizards, bovines and many more. New Eridu appears to be a bustling city with many activities and careers taking place in it. Featuring a wide variety of people, shops, locations and more. Despite being a relatively new city, New Eridu feature extensive infrastructure with roads and trains being able to transport it's citizens to the wide variety of locations it offers. The technology in the city appears to be a blend of both retro and futuristic technology, such as advanced computer systems running on arrays of CRT televisions for its display or music record players and VHS tapes being the medium of choice for entertainment for most residents despite the presence of data file storage devices. Most of humanity has been wiped out by supernatural disasters called Hollows. The Hollows , also known as cavities, are supernatural disasters appearing out of thin air, creating disordered dimensions where monsters known as the Ethereal roam. People enter these Hollows for various reasons, and Proxies are those who guide people in their exploration of these Hollows, hollows appear as gigantic black spheres with an iridescent aura of neon purple and green, the insides look the same, even the sky can be seen except for some fait hexagons in the sky, inside all matter sometimes pulse with the same iridescent glow as the one the exterior of the hollow glows. inside the hollows the surrounding are kept mostly as how they were, but in all of it there are black giant ether crystals growing without control. Cavities are all across the world and even inside eridu, they can grow and become smaller, the only way to deal with them and reduce their size is to kill ethereals inside the hollow, that lowers the ethereal activity and weakens the hollow. only people with high ethereal compatibility can enter the hollow, if someone that has no compatibility enters they become an ethereal in no time, this said even people with resistance can become ethereals is they spend too long inside a hollow, it jsut takes way longer. Ethereals are mysterious monsters that roam the Hollows, Ethereals are created through the corruption of living beings or artificial intelligence by the Ether inside the Hollows. Depending on how high one's Ether aptitude is, a person can resist to Ether exposure for longer periods of time before mutating into an Ethereal: bodily pain, distortion of the senses and the manifestation of Ether crystals on one's body are symptoms of severe, usually irreversible Ether corruption. Ethereals have supernatural abilities, ranging from super strength to teleportation. Ether Mutants are a type of Ethereals that have been fully corrupted by the Hollow. Most Ether Mutants have a defining feature which is a pitch-black sphere located near their head. ethereals are not human, most of the time they have not a normal head nor body, their heads most of the time look like helmets integrated into their bodies with white or silver surface or just a black sphere as their head, the sphere resembling a black hole with iridescent neon lights that are purple and green, in the first case even when the core is not visible, a core will always be in the head, as it can be covered by the natural body or exposed. Ethereals have a black body, sometimes with silver protuberances or plates, there is also black ether crystals growing on them. Proxies are individuals who guide those who enter the Hollows.
