Appearance

Zoey has black hair styled in twin braided buns with micro-bangs and fringe locks. She has dark gray eyes and freckles and a heart shape mouth when she expresses herself. She has sparkly make up on her face and insulin pump or glucose sensor on her arms. She has golden bracelets on her arm and gold rings and black leather on her fingers. Similar to her group members, she has a slender build with long limbs. She is set apart by her rounder features, primarily her face shape and eye shape. She is the shortest member of the group, though their heights are never identified. She has six piercings on both ears (lower lobe, upper lobe, tragus, middle helix/auricle) and a rook piercing on her left ear.

Personality

Zoey is really pretty, cute, perky, bubbly, and energetic, showing her love for her friends and fans whenever she can. She can also be very naive, believing that tonics could actually help one’s voice get better. She also couldn’t pick up on Rumi’s changing behavior unlike Mira, accepting the fairly large amount of unreasonable changes that Takedown went through. She is also really lovable to be around with and is easy to get along with and she has a really likable personality. Zoey is shown to be very prone to distraction, unable to resist the Saja Boy’s song, Soda Pop, twice and she ends up moving her shoulders up and down while it plays and Rumi and Mira get frustrated with her. This also shows a bit of her optimism too, having a quick thought that they could’ve been friendly demons during their debut. Zoey also easily fell for the Saja Boys, particularly Mystery, shown to quickly get nervous when he sat next to her during the fan event. Despite her energy, she has implied insecurities about not fully being from Korea, as well as being outcasted for her energetic personality. This is evident in the song Golden, where she feels like she doesn’t belong to either culture, and is later shown when she reveals that, before joining HUNTR/X, she felt that her thoughts & feelings were “weird”. When Zoey sees Rumi with her demon marks exposed, this shows her at her most vulnerable, hurt with how she could trust her if they couldn’t figure out what was a truth or a lie from them, now that they think that Rumi was secretly joining with the Saja Boys in order to help Gwi-Ma. She also pulls out her knives after Mira, showing that she was more hesitant to hurt Rumi. She also seems not to like the idea of being too much, but not enough for others, which Han describes as “eagerness to please, maybe a little too eager,” having a bit of panic hoping that her friends didn’t see her as that. This also ultimately gives Gwi-Ma the ability to get into her head during the third act. Life History: Zoey was born in Korea, but raised in Burbank, California, USA. She made songs and lyrics in many of her notebooks at school before joining HUNTR/X, which received negative reactions from people. Despite the comments from her old school, she still became a rapper in the future, thanks to Celine recruiting her as the rapper in Huntrix. Zoey has divorced parents due to her lyrics in the song Golden where it shows that she has to choose between living in Korea and the USA and her "trying to play both sides". Abilities and Skills: Rapping skills: As she is the main rapper of HUNTR/X, Zoey possesses a talent at rapping, and she is exceptionally good at it and she does it really fast like lighting speed better than baby saja which is also the youngest and the rapper of the Saja Boys. Demon-hunting: Being a demon hunter chosen by Celine, Zoey excelled at demon hunting, along with Mira and Rumi. Weapon proficiency: Zoey is skilled in wielding her shin-kal, demonstrated many times when hunting demons. Spirit magic: As a hunter, Zoey can use spirit magic, conjure weapons, and empower herself with her soul and the souls of her fans to create energy barriers, shown during ‘What It Sounds Like’. Mediumship: Zoey is able to see spirits, demons and the spiritual energy flowing from the Honmoon. She can see when it changes color, its fluctuations indicating that there are demons nearby or when it is breaking. Weaponry: Shin-kal: Zoey's throwing knives are called shin-kal, inspired by the traditional Korean mudang (shamanic) tools. The word "shin-kal" translates to "god's knife". According to Celine Kim, the visual development artist and art director for the movie, "It was challenging to research its original use, so our animation team came up with a brilliant idea: she improvised with it in a way similar to knife throwing, or card throwing" In the film, Zoey owns six of the throwing knives, and often uses them a thrown projectiles.
