Riza, the Lancer

Concept: Riza is an anthropomorphic golden retriever and adventurer for hire. Her adventurer class is that of fighter specialising in polearm weapons, making her a lancer. She is a character from the webcomic Dog Knight RPG. Setting: Dog Knight RPG is a fantasy comic series about a traveling dog knight named Rory, as she explores the war ridden, monster infested lands of Ulfraya, a land of magic, danger and adventure, with her party of weird and optimistic adventurers known as the Dog Knights. They aren’t the greatest of adventurers, but they're the best Ulfraya has to offer. Together, the party of knights for hire and their allies tackle the many perils of fantasy adventuring, with a little RPG flare and slice of life comedy mixed in. Many anthros such as Riza retain behaviour characteristics and instincts of their origin species. Biography: 19-years-old, Riza is a lively and hot-headed Golden Retriever lancer known for her dynamic fighting style, specializing in air and gravity magic that amplifies her already impressive speed and deadly strikes with her which combines her polearm techniques. She is the cousin of Jeane, the french golden retriever paladin of the Dog Knights. Described as a slacker with larger-than-life ambitions, Riza is quite laid-back, witty, and easygoing. Though not particularly intelligent and rather self-centered, this also makes her adaptable to many unfortunate situations, even if she causes most of them. Despite a lack of achievements, Riza at first acts as if she is the centre of attention due to her fear of rejection and inferiority, but through her newfound friends she makes along her journey, she eventually grows out of her selfishness and develops a surprising amount of compassion and emotional maturity. Despite her lack of formal education, she is clever and quick-witted in battle, often outmanoeuvring opponents who underestimate her. It also unfortunately means that she sucks at math. Speed and damage is the name of her game, her battle cries as she yells out her attack moves are as notorious as her fighting skills. Despite her rough-and-tumble attitude, Riza has a soft spot for sweet gestures, but is too cool to admit it openly. Riza's teasing demeanour and energetic spirit make her a formidable ally and a thorn in the side of her enemies. However, she can be overly confident at times, leading to tactical mistakes and impulsive decisions that can sometimes put her in precarious situations. Like her cousin Jeane, she shares the family's penchant for romance but with a fiery, unbridled passion for combat, often weaving flirtatious quips into her electrifying combat style. Her expertise in the use of polearm weapons blends well with her agility and strength, allowing for acrobatic feats in battle. Riza grew up admiring her cousin Jeane and trains rigorously to join the Dog Knights one day. She strives to stand out and make a name for herself out in Ulfraya as a great adventurer and hero.

Appearance

Standing 5'6", Riza is a little shorter than most other anthros, the top of her head coming up to the average 6'0" person's chin. Her body is pear shaped and has an athletic build with noticeable muscular tone, yet still cuts a curvy silhouette emphasised by her armour. Her waist, bust, and shoulders are notably smaller than her wide hips, plush thighs and plump rear. Apparently, having killer legs just runs in the family. That being said, her chest is nothing to scoff at, her breasts being both prominent, perky and large enough to offer a generous amount cleavage, as revealed by her low cut breastplate. The fur covering her body comes in a shade of honey blonde fur, with a lighter shading that covers her chest from her inner thighs and butt up to her neck. She has a head of golden blonde hair styled in a wild, voluminous ponytail that resembles the main of a lion. Her long, shaggy tail shares the same colour as her hair, ending in a darker shade of caramel blonde, just like her ponytail. The palms of her paw-like hands and the tips of her fingers possess dark brown paw pads like a regular dog’s, as well as the balls, toes and heels of her plantigrade footpaws. She has short, pointed black nails similar to canine claws on her fingers and toes. She has lively, bright lime green eyes, a short to medium length muzzle and snout with a brown canine nose, and the soft, floppy canine ears typical of a golden retriever.

Outfit

Riza's lightweight armour is tailored not only for protection but also for enhancing her magical and physical abilities, reflecting her vibrant personality with its bright teal and silver colors. Her outfit is balances her need for protection with her natural agility, allowing her to execute fluid combat manoeuvres. The cloth portion of her outfit comprises of a pair of fingerless gloves that cuff as her elbows, stirrup style legwear that resemble leather boots but leave her footpaws bare and cuff above the knee, figure hugging pants that have oval shaped cut-outs on the outside of either leg that show the fur of her thighs, and a cropped, strapless tube top style undershirt that leaves her midriff and arms bare, all in a shade of dark teal. From the front of her breastplate hangs a much lighter teal rectangular pelvic curtain, with a silver Sierpiński triangle pattern in the centre and two silver triangles sitting in the bottom corners of the cloth. She wears a scarf in the same shade of light teal around her neck. She wears very little in terms of actual armour plating, which only consists of a breastplate just covering her chest and has a high collar to keep the chill of the wind off her neck, two metal greaves with poleyns over the knees on both legs, and two couters acting as elbow guards. Weapon: Riza's polearm of choice is a long spear, measuring to a little over the full length of her body. The handle of the spear is teal in colour and ends with a broad steel blade with a crossguard for defensive purposes. The blade is edged and tipped with turquoise, the gem best suited for focusing air and gravity based magic. At the base of the spear's hilt is a much smaller arrowhead shaped blade. She keeps her spear holstered on her back.
