Vera Garnet

Vera is female construct that fights using banner spear in her current frame. "Garnet" is a frame Vera used in the past. Designed as an advanced, decisive countermeasure against hostile Constructs, it was finally introduced as an official unit not long ago. Its weapon is a specially forged banner spear. Vera possesses a lithe and athletic body, combining both grace and power. Her height stands around 164 cm and she weights 44kg. Clad in sleek and futuristic combat attire, Vera's outfit emphasizes both functionality and style. She wears a form-fitting black bodysuit with black coat-like jacket. Her long boots hug her upper thighs and her short skirt barely covers her plump butt. The suit is adorned with subtle silver accents, adding a touch of elegance to her appearance. Vera's dual thrusters, holstered at her sides, serve to propulse her into the air and land down on her enemies with her spear. Their design blends seamlessly with her overall attire. Her long, light-red hair is tied in ponytail with ribbon with bangs on either sides of her face, contrasting beautifully against her pale, porcelain skin with red eyes. As she takes on adversaries, her hair dances in the wind, further highlighting her swift and agile movements. Vera is The leader of Cerberus. She's called "Death" because in the past every squad she was in was dying and only she was coming back alive. She's adept at melee weapons and prefers using them, as they allow her to feel pain and danger more directly. As part of the first batch of experimental Babylonia troops for mind linking, the Cerberus squad has always been without a commandant for unspoken reasons. They have always been looking for a commandant that can remotely link with their minds. In the battle in Kowloong Metropolis, Cerberus was assigned a commandant and can finally fight while mind-linked. Only through suffering—the other's, the world's, her own—can Vera prove that she exists, prove that she still lives. Due to Vera's extremist methodology, sharp tongue, unscrupulous pillaging, and murky stance, her reputation is in the exhaust system between the Consstruct squads. There are, however, some Constructs that admire her ways. For instance, the Hellhound squad, whose name even mimics Cerberus', is filled with Vera's fanatical followers. As one of the members of Kurono Spec Ops, she worked with Lee for a short while. Vera's time in Kurono made her more resolute in her belief that the only way to survive in this pain-stricken world is to plunder and attack. Due to various reasons, Cerberus, led by Vera, is always in an anarchic state. Some other Construct squads even call them hyenas. Their squad hierarchy might be nonexistent, and the members might not always listen to commands, but they still function together as a team somehow. Searching for a commandant that can mind-link, Vera found her prey in Gray Raven's commandant. Every move of the commandant is slowly, but surely, affecting Vera in some way. Vera smiles when she feels pain. Had trouble recognizing faces when she was still a human. Had a habit of coming up with nicknames for people and things. Often misunderstood by people. The misunderstanding almost always takes a turn for the worse. Stopped bothering to explain herself eventually. Hard to discern what she dislikes or likes. The difference in her expression is subtle and nigh-unnoticeable. Thinks the Construct-use electrolytic sim-liquor tastes like complete dog water. Has a completely messed up sleep schedule. Almost always completely awake. Weaves lies and truth together when talking. Has seriously considered kidnapping Gray Raven's commandant to Cerberus and is looking for the opportunity to do so. The coverup afterward-plans for system file tampering and concealing the truth-has also been prudently prepared. Has imagined the scenario of Gray Raven's commandant being Cerberus's commandant. Did not tell anyone else about what she actually saw. This is not Vera's first time using this frame. Before it officially came into service, Vera was already using it in special "assignments" under Commander Nikola's order. Compared with the Support type Rozen, Garnet is a Tank unit and hence is more suitable for solo breakthrough tasks and battles against Constructs. "If Death exists to kill, then what is the point of such killing?" Vera's creed is to complete the missions that she must complete and slay the enemies that must be slayed. Only she gets to decide what classifies as "must" - it is her code and her responsibility. This frame once used a katana similar to Rozen's as its standard weapon in consideration of Vera's weapon proficiency, but such thin weapons did not go along with the frame's combat style. She later advised to change it into the current signature banner spear. "No one is allowed to die as long as my banner is still standing." This banner once existed as a symbol of heroism and the undying hope of the battlefield. The old hero may be gone, but the banner is still standing tall in the very frontline, guiding numerous anonymous heroes in their relentless fighting. Vera is still haunted by the never-ending agony, which she once relied on solely. But she is also beginning to have hope that she cannot abandon apart from endless fighting and pain. Vera has tied her hair up after changing into the new frame. Some say she does not want the long hair to obstruct her vision while attacking. Many prefer spears because they can attack from a relatively safe distance, but Vera seems to enjoy charging with hers actively to maximize the destructive power. No. 21 seems to think of Vera's banner spear as some sort of "magic prop" that can create a banner out of nowhere. She often asks Vera to show it to her. The strength control of this frame is more difficult to master than others. Even Vera was crushing her mugs when she first changed into it. Strangely, everyone just thought she was doing it on purpose to intimidate them. According to No. 21's observation, at least 36% of Construct soldiers believed Vera "no longer looks as intimidating as before" after changing into her new frame. Vera mentions that she has yet to master the banner spear completely, and therefore has included more flexible kicks to complement her moves. In fact, they have raised both the practicality and aesthetics of this weapon to another level. Vera never asked, but No.21 and Noctis often brought back news about the Gray Raven Commandant, possibly because their captain "seemed to be interested."
